14 Things That Are Getting Cheaper

some things may be getting cheaper but our income is going down and keeps doing so. As a senior citizen our SS checks have done nothing for 3 years or more now. My husband passed last Sept and it is impossible for me to make ends meet myself. It was even hard to do when he was here. Young families are going hungry to keep homes or losing homes and living on the street. Give us some good news about things we really need. club dues etc are not some of them. Jean

If you don't have money to begin with, the lower costs are not going to help.

This article is complete BS. Overall inflation at 2%? Try more like 10.

I agree with Ellen of Childress of Texas. We moved from Texas to Florida almost 3 years ago and found that food costs here are very high, beef especially is much higher, Gas is at least $0.20-$0.25 higher than Texas. Cars seem to have gone up

a lot since we purchased one in Texas 2007. Sure you may want to say that electronics are down, but that wide screen TV always goes down when they keep bringing new high priced models to the market, they are always improving them, I am content to get last years model. Cel phones have many more gadgets than I could ever use, com'on $250.00 for a telephone, less if I sign a long term contract, what a scam! Look at your cel phone bill, the taxes are about 25% and they keep going up,

I just want a phone to make & receive calls, no texts, no photos, no internet, etc, etc. etc, They charge for all those options.

Fortunately the cost of computers has gone down, I remember my first one was about $5,000.00 back in 1987, my last one was only about $1,400.00 and a laptop is only about $600.00 with way more speed and memory than my first $5,000.00 unit.

Cable bills keep going up, and giving you a number of channels that we never watch, their packages are a waste. Postage just keeps going up, almost every 6 months, as they are not efficient and pay too many benefits,

Now I am on Social Security checks and medical costs keep going up, illegals? or just too many people in the doctors office to fill out insurance forms.

I do not know who takes these studies, but I'll bet they are on a salary and get a raise every year.

I'm not sure that dropping prices is a bad thing at all. I have never purchased a home for an investment; so, I don't feel robbed when prices fall because I didn't overbuy. We live on a fixed income as retirees, and we're seeing prices of food, cars, clothing, etc. go up, not down. Perhaps, it depends on where one lives or how one spends his money. This article is not slanted toward health in our economy. It's slanted toward investors who want to keep prices rising so their investments will rise in value. That may not work either.
