3 Ways Obama Could Boost Hiring

even Clinton had started a make-work program (CETA) and it employed many people, possibly starting them only in the public sector, but a few underskilled (BA-level only ie.) college graduates, folks with less recent experience, those over 50--though it was for any age group, qualified; and I think it especially helped, in my area, the now-desperate 18-to 25-yr. old age group. This group now includes the many college students, who are actively working during their student years, even the more affluent ones. The help to these people was, recent experience and references, networking, and a few added skills. The benefit to the economy was 100percent--all the money in those worker pockets went back into the economy. I don't know why conservatives scream about investment like this--and you know they would, but it only increases, tax rolls, consumption, and future employment base which is pure benefit. The best "job club" involves meeting empoyed people, no matter what anyone says, and actually working with them is a great positive, because face it, the employed folks "know people", and any perks of employment and info you find ie. about discounts and services, are there. This was a one-year program and many people were kept on, because of the need for workers, still strong i think in areas such as public transportation, certain services, and many helpful supplements that corp.'s arent able to afford right now. Anyway these would all be American jobs. And no matter what anyone says, it is true what s in this article--the lower incomes contribute more. Right back into the economy it's a win-win.

Well I'd make it against the law to outsource jobs & if a company did I'd make them pay a hefty fine 4 every job they outsourced.I

would just make the whole co. go overseas & boycott their prod-

ucts or ban them from the U.S. We need to take control away from

these corporations.there's too much corruption in the country from

special interests,lobbyists & politicians.Lobbyists & special inter

-ests should have to go through the same things we the American people

have to.(get a petition with 500,000 names on it everytime they want something. Also they need to do away with pork barrel spending.

Like the Bridge to nowhere in Alaska & B.S. like that. The voters

of every state should vote 4 what needs to be done in their state

instead of letting these politicians steal the money to do what they want with it.

I got an email the other day comparing walmart and the US govt. It shows walmarts success (IMPRESSIVE) over the last 17 years and the US govt. "record" over the last 200+ years. I think we should turn over the country to walmart executives who have a PROVEN track record of success. It would do the country good. Obama walked into a S*#tstorm no doubt, but retoric and promises won't work. Try walmarts approach to running things, it would probably work. But then, govt. excess would have to go and we ALL know that won't be allowed!

One of the first things our government could do to decrease unemployment is to charge companies that offshore jobs (like IBM, Sears and a whole lot more), HUGE taxe penalties.

That would put money back into Washington coffers and make it a whole lot less enticing for companies to CONTINUE to offshore jobs.

And, BTW, everyone needs to boycott NBC for their ignorant attempt at comedy with 'Outsourced' because it is NO LAUGHING MATTER!!!!!!!

Ppl did it during the Bush or Clinton administration too, but why is everyone pointing fingers at only the president? There are a ton of other ppl that factor into the stuff that Obama had the misfortune of walking into for his presidency.

Idc if the pres is supposed to "symbolize everything abt the country/gov't" it's stupid and ignorant. Why? because there are actually dumbos out there that think having the pres impeached would solve anything :\

It doesn't matter who the president is ppl, the times are just suckish and they will be no matter who's president! So start griping about real issues, not pointing fingers!

If ur not one of the idiots I've mentioned, then please disregard this comment :I

The do gooders are in the minorities but they have taken over the control of this country. When I got my first pocket knife I was warned that it was sharp and I could cut myself, guess what ,I cut my self. You can be sure that I was then more carefull around that knife. The local bully got in my face and we had it out right then, This stopped the bullying right quick. Now the solutions are for some goodder to come up with a new law to take our individual solutions away from us so they can be so incharge. Now it's you must wear helmet, use your seat belts, and on and on. My brothers and I fought the japs and nagi who wanted to take away our freedoms, and we won! Our freedoms are taken away day by day by the so called GOODDOERS who are going to make us so much better. Look around folks, it ain't working.

Somebody has the money. Government doesn't because they rely on John Doe. John Doe doesn't have it because he's underpaid or unemployed and it's foolish to think that every deprived John Doe can start a business and make money.

The answer lies with businesses now making a profit. They should be made to pay a fair wage (without the Scamming unions) and they should be made to employ anyone who wants a job.

Why is this not Socialism? Because businesses owe everything they got to John Doe. It's payback time as I see it.

Implement Fair Tax, the only fair solution available. It eliminates the income tax and IRS, it is revenue neutral to current convoluted system and replaces it with fair consumption tax with "prebates" to offset cost of living for poor. Go to fairtax.org to learn more.

The only downside would be figure out how to prevent the corrupt Congress to re-introduce the punitive income tax ever again.

Companies go overseas because of increasing taxes and regulation. Lower taxes and regulation would encourage new businesses to be formed and perhaps bring back at least some of the jobs that have been outsourced overseas.

TELL THE COMPANIES THAT ARE FROM HERE TO BRING THE JOBS BACK AND HIRE AMERICANS ONLY OR FACE TARIFFS OF 25% OR HIGHER .THE NON AMERICAN COMPANIES THAT BRING IN THEIR PRODUCTS HAVE A TARIFF AND OUR COMPANIES SHOULD NOT HAVE A UNFAIR ADVANTAGE OVER THEM SINCE THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE CONSUMERS ANY MORE THAN FOREIGN COMPANIES DO.I PERSONALLY WILL NOT BUY OR TRY NOT TO BUY SOMETHING FROM CHINA AS A MATTER OF FACT I DO NOT CONSIDER THEM AMERICAN COMPANIES AND WILL NOT BUY THEIR INFERIOR PRODUCTS.
