President Clinton can't "tell" anyone to do anything Michael in AL.

You see here in The United States of America Congress makes the laws and during President Clinton's term the GOP held sway on Congress. Y'all might recall Newt "The Adulterer" Gingrich's "Contract with America."

This contract promised each American a home and he and Newt's owners on Wall-Street cut all sane financial regulations and allowed people working at Pizza Hut to sign no money down mortgages for $700,000 homes.

This is what's wrong with my country.

We have water carriers like this Michael in AL clown lying for the benefit of the maggots on the right who actually caused this crisis.

Keep your neo-confederate talking points where they belong...the confederacy.

Because The Americans People are tired of the right-wing propaganda machine spinning their disasters and passing the buck!

I question the computer systems design numbers. In my city in Colorado, we lost 18,000 in a few years and other has lost more so I think the numbers of jobs lost are higher. Yes, a lot of lower-end IT work has been outsourced to India and China, and its true companies still need talented systems designers and other well-trained technicians to develop their customized software. But what does it take to make it into that realm of talented or well-trained people? A degree and many years of experience is what employers are looking for to be a qualified candidate. If a new graduate walks in with his shiny new degree, the employers will say you also need 5-10 years experience to do the upper end system designing jobs that are still left in the USA. Go to your local university and look up the Institutional Research stats for computer science and electrical engineers. If these fields are really in demand, the numbers will grow faster each year. At my alma mater, these degree programs went from 250 down to 80 students from 2000-2009. To say this is likely to be one of the fastest-growing job markets over the next several years may not be accurate and lead a lot of people down the primrose path.

Walt... Can't believe you don't know the facts... it's incredible that we have voted people into office that continually put our lives at risk!! At risk of security, opportunity, future prosperity!! Don't tell me you don't know that our leaders REQUIRED Banks and other Lending Institutions to lend to questionable borrowers? They desired EVERYONE to have homeownership. Those caring tender hearts of theirs!!

You see, they believe EVERYBODY SHOULD HAVE EVERYTHING SOMEONE ELSE HAS EXCEPT THAT IF EVERYBODY DOESN'T HAVE THE SAME AMOUNT AS THAT SOMEBODY DOES - WELL THEN, IT'S ONLY FAIR TO MAKE THAT SOMEBODY GIVE TO EVERYBODY SOME OF THEIR MONEY SO THAT EVERYBODY CAN HAVE EVERYTHING THAT SOMEBODY HAS. BUT REMEMBER - THAT EVERYBODY SHOULDN'T HAVE TO WORK FOR IT AS HARD AS THAT SOMEBODY DID BECAUSE WE JUST WANT TO MAKE IT FAIR FOR EVERYBODY!! Fair to have a house even though they CAN'T afford it nor do they have good credit to make them a secure credit risk!! BUT those rotten Banks HAD no choice but to lend to them!! It was required... ACORN - Obama's buddies made sure of THAT!!

OH!! AND DON'T EXPECT EVERYBODY TO UNDERSTAND THEIR RESPONSIBLITIES WITH WHAT THEY GET EITHER... BECAUSE NOT EVERYBODY KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING!! THEY WERE JUST TOLD THEY COULD BUY A HOUSE!! They didn't know they would HAVE to pay for it or that the interest rate could go up in a year or so!! NO!! NEVER KNEW!! And people weren't flipping houses either! They didn't think they'd get in trouble!!

Yah (liberal parasites)!! They love the poor and downtrodden so much they keep them that way!! ULTIMATELY THEY GIVE US NOTHING BUT the check AND the crumbs on the floor - and more taxes and inflation and more poverty and unemployment!! Quit listening to the talking points on CBS, NBC, ABC, MSNBC, CNN, PBS, etc.. etc., etc. Study and learn something!! The future doesn't look too pretty to me!!

I think you are all wrong. It was the government that created all the problems that we currently have. Every time they "fixed" something it actually broke. Back in 1994, Clinton told the bankers to home ownership for everyone happen. They did and look where what we just went through. It affected the whole world. The government made it worthwhile to take businesses off shore. Avondale and Russell were of the first companies to vanish. There were literally thousands that closed here and went elsewhere. Foreign automakers paid and continue to pay 100% import fee to build out of the country and sell it here...a good tax. Now however, to avoid the tax, they built plants here and make cars here at $30 plus dollars an hour less than domestic manufacturers. We also have Chinese steel plants replacing U.S. Steel plants, Australian yacht and ship manufacturers replacing U.S. manufacturers, etc... We have the entire Asian & Oriental contingent moving their companies to America and the other companies are catching on. Our government does something "big" to help everyone of them locate here and it includes our state governments too. We will be able to say "Made in America" again... by a foreign owned manufacturer. Interest flip huh? We are moving out and they are moving in.

Sure, I agree with all who say we need to stick with Made in the US products. We need more and more businesses in the US. But I also look at how some American workers work their butts off to pay the taxes to support those who refuse to work because government welfare and food stamps are too prosperous. I know people who brag that they get $800 a month in food stamps. Some of them would not work if it tried to hit them in the nose, while others are out here working for cash and drawing SSI checks in the process. Some of the kids don't live in the household. Why report it? No one ever checks these claims out, even though those of us who live as neighbors know this to be true. Too many mom and pop groceries continue to trade food stamps for cigarettes. There is also the wonderous Earned Income Credit at the end of the year. This is another way that people defraud the government. No one ever checks or cross references who is living in the household that is getting food stamps and welfare at one place, then pops up on great uncle twice removed's tax return. Claim a few kids and get back more than you even earned! Yes...I am angry, tired, broken down after 25 years of working job after job without insurance or with premiums that required I pay part while welfare is free. Medicaid makes you pay about $1 an RX, but Medicare isn't much help on meds at all. And what about those illegals?? They should have their own ball team...go team! Not even gonna go there this early in the morning. Will just drink my cup of java and thank God that I am an American and at least able to serve a just God who also thinks slack is lack. We will all one day stand before Him!

You think the government is to blame? No, bucko, you and millions like you are to blame. Also Wall St didn't send the jobs overseas either. And neither did the politicians. No, my friend, people who shop at Wal Mart, people who buy junk made overseas. People who buy gas hogs causing a larger demand for foreign oil.

You want American jobs to return? Don't buy anything unless it says "Made in USA" on it. Get your friends to do the same.

You really want to know who's to blame?

Look in a mirror. And STOP listening and watching Fox News and Rush Limbaugh.

These are serious times and we, in the US, have serious problems. There are people, I am sure you watch and listen to, who are merely earning their own living by getting you all stoked up. Solving serious problems requires serious people not entertainers or snake oil salesmen.

This is a crying shame that American investors and businesses are out- sourcing there own people in America, right out of jobs by sending there jobs overseas. Plus the closing of our factories to build factories in foreign Countrys and putting foreign workers in jobs instead of the American people. "How shameful" they have not thought about their own people, and families and have put them out of jobs. I will bet you that our forefathers are turning over in their graves. It is a real turn for Americans, when their own American Companies think more about the old mighty dollar instead of having pride, loyalty, and consideration on what they are doing to their own America and their own people. It should make everyone sick to their stomachs. Has it really been good for our Country and our people? "Really!" big money wake up before it is too late for all of us including you.

Here here is all I can say. Maybe some of those musicians, rappers and movie stars who really do suck, should not get paid billions of dollars either. Let's not forget ex-cons who can throw footballs or catch baseballs that get billions of dollars for what? Yes, I am a girl and love sports but enough already.

i have been a project superintendent for several large const. co.s for the last 40yrs the last one for 11yrs and makeing a fair living but their cuts have been deep to stay in buiness and i understand that part. it appears that some jobs are out there if willing to travel or relocate but at half the salary and benefits or even less. when is our government going to get it that before very long their is only going to be two classes of people in the good ole usa that is poor and rich and that is it. if anyone knows of someone that needs a good builder i am here and willing. also willing to travel to most anywhere.

arizona jackson of AL 11:04AM December 05, 2010

Seems like the government is not getting the message that we citizens of the USA are tired of all the lies and BS. We need jobs. Jobs that they have allowed Wall Street to send overseas and in this action, putting American citizens out of work. All in the name of profit! Along with being under the guise of being good for the economy. WHO'S economy? Defininitely not the working people of the country, but instead for the rich money grubbing bas$%@ds on Wall Street and in Washington. So, lets get these lifetime thieves out of office, put some simple people that don't know how to manipulate our tax dollars in office, limit terms, limit salaries, put everyone on the same retirement plan (social security), the same health care that Obama thinks is so great and hold them accountable for the work they actually do.
