5 Reasons to Stop Fearing China

There is a huge untapped market in the US, literally sitting on their hands yearning for the work that is being sent overseas. There are intelligent, educated, smart Native Americans. US industry has rushed to poverty areas overseas, invested millions in buildings and technology, and then pays exorbitant shipping costs to get the products back to the US. Stop all that. Put the industry in South Dakota, North Dakota, New Mexico, Arizona, Wisconsin, etc. wherever there are concentrations of Native peoples. Look at their crafts. They are brilliant. They are an industrious people and a huge untapped work force in this country. Why keep ignoring them. Use this market force and help save our economy. They are OUR people and they will help turn this wash-out overseas and keep our investment processes here where they belong. Talk to your senators and representatives. Let's DO SOMETHING about this!!!!!!

China still has an edge in terms of man power. Lets say American went all out to the last man war with China, even if one American kills 4 Chinese person, in the end China would still have the population of about 1/3 of the United States. Cheap labor in China makes production much ease. American's debt to China will ensure that China will be the big brother to Americans.

I have lived in China for 4 years now since leaving the USA and I have yet to see any form of "Communism" all I see everywhere I go is full blown CAPITALISM. Everywhere I go I see young affluent chinese businessmen in their 30s driving BMWs Porsches Lexus and you name the luxury brand they are everywhere. The infrastructure here in Dongguan is 2nd to no city in America. I see 5 new hi speed rail lines being built now in the Pearl River Delta and it is full speed ahead with no delays because of environmentalist complaints. I see skyscrapers popping up everyday and over 1/2 of the worlds supply of hirise cranes are in this city alone. I can walk the streets at night in perfect safety.I have yet to see a bar room brawl like you see in any bar in any city in America on a daily basis. When I compare my lifestyle here with that of Oregon I am 10 times better off on 10% of the cost. If this is Communism sign me up.

Those who make it the best and cheapest, win. That's the whole point of capitalism. As Americans we are our own worst enemy. If someone else works harder and whines less they're going to succeed, and they will deserve it.

Rick made several good points espeacially about education. Why are state governments decreasing education funding at a time when we need it most?

Excellent article.... solid review of some salient points. It seems to me that Americans' worst fears might be America itself and more than that, the US government whose aggressive invasion of its own peoples' privacy; destruction of any foreign government that chooses to not follow Washington's warped policies; wild money printing to devalue the US dollar; and wholesale self-depricating Washington corruption.

The reason why people in the United States have no job is because of the greedy businessmen who wants to get more and more, not realizing that if you remove the jobs here, then less people will buy the commodity that they are selling.

Read the Above stated Colimn which can be found on this web siter: www.thetrumpet.com It shows that America is beholden to China's lending money to America to live its gawdy life style which is leading to our nation's bankruptcy. Read this book, Empire of Debt, by Bill Bonner and Addison Wiggin, for what awaits our nation.

Currently, the US is quite polarized by the right and the left wingers who have very little in common. Rhetoric from both sides carries lots of half-truth, misrepresentations, misinformation, bogus arguments, and vicious attacks, when discussing issues relating to China. One side is hardly any better than the other. However, the area they seem to agree on and share is in bashing China, deservingly or not. It is so bad that there is not much credibility left in what we hear or read in analyzing issues of US-China relationship.

This article by Mr. Newman is among the best that analyzed many issues evolving Sino-American relationship in a fair, constructive and insightful manner. As a Chinese American, I feel thankful and appreciate that there are still clear voices out there. Kowtow to you, Mr. Newman.
