5 Reasons to Stop Fearing China

China is fearful due to several reasons. First, its authoritarian government who can pull mighty resources for political and military use even per capita for GDP in China is ranked low. Most poor in China seems either fine or blame themselves for being a poor (the power of the state controlled media). The power of a nation comes from government-controlled GDP but not per capita GDP. If the poorest country N. Korea can give US a headache, think about China the same way if things go wrong. Second, it is naïve to think the richer China will buy more. I don’t know how much Spanish wine they drink. But I do know everyone in China uses a cell phone or a computer running Windows with only few made from outside China. If everyone in China wants a popular product, China will make sure it will be made in China. Third, China desperately needs our technology but not our business. When we lose our technology, we lose our jobs as well. It is like a rich man came to his debtor’s house with a bag of money. The debtor said to the rich: I brought and borrowed so much from you, please take a look and you can buy anything you want in my house. The rich dropped the bag and said “your wife”.

I agree with the author that our biggest enemy is ourselves if we lose our confidence and common sense. But we are not able to keep our No. 1 when we sit too comfortably without fear.
