I agree with all of the previous comments. I'm also frowned upon for not having a job. I was separated from my job andI lost dental along with the medical care. And along with that I was in mid procedures to getting prepared for dentures. Therefore, I have lost most all of my front teeth, thus, making it more difficult for someone to hire me. My typing speed is 88wpm with a 0% error rate. Very computer savvy and experienced in customer service. But without the teeth, well. I'm hoping I can convince someone to hire me to work in a back office somewhere. My car was repossessed two days after burying my mother. Public transportation has cutback big time on its services yet still increased the cost. Customer service has declined considerably because of all of these lay-offs. I am qualified to fill a lot of these positions, if they would just hire some of us. I wish I knew where this all of leading, for real. I keep hearing folks talking about wait and see. I see, I see. I can only pray, Lord, please don't let things get worse than this. I wonder if the President really understands what is happening to the middle aged. These are people who were self sufficient and independant. It doesn't feel good at all when you have to look to others for a ride to the supermarket. So for all those who frown on me because I got caught up in the tough times, just stop frowning and hire someone or at least recommend them so they can at least get an interview. And remember, you're still not safe yet. As long as we're in the red, you are there too.

Being the tail end of the baby boom really is tough. It's like being caught in the middle,to old to find a great paying job,to old to beat out the 18 somethings! On

top of it,I've had to go without medical care.I finally qualified for help on medicenes but cannot afford medical care! Without a doctor, you cannot get the

script to get the med's filled!!! Oh, and let's not forget the great work from home hunt...what a ripoff ! I feel trapped with no way out and trust me it isn't a great place to be.JOB,right, if I want to work at Walmart and have to work without getting paid again! Listen,I'm a vietnam era veteran (fat lot of good that does), and have (as a female)less VA help than a WWII vet!!! If there is any light at the end of the tunnel,I don't see it.

It is hard to believe but true. I have met so many people looking for work its amazing. Many with degrees and most with degrees in the right area yet they like so many others are fighting now in hopes of getting a $14.00 an hour job. These people can't go out and buy a new car even if they get a position because their simply not paying enough for them to own a decent used car.

The numbers look good as long as they are twisted to do so. In fact, the majority do not take into account of all the people who are unemployed, underemployed, Re-enter College, or who simply gave up. Reality here in Michigan is 27% unemployment when the honest surveys are posted / published.

I myself am spending $60K on education in hopes it somehow will help me land a decent job, DECENT job not a good job, not a career position, just decent. After it is all said and done, the ones winning right now are the colleges and trade schools. Countless people like myself are convinced if I learn more, have a piece of paper, or another piece of paper I will get a good job. The reality is, you are in no better of a position and many have the skills, talent, drive and yes even the education but US companies have gotten spoiled by outsourcing and taking advantage of the people who still believe all of the above will get them that GOOD position, It may but the real numbers indicate your simply one of millions hoping and believing in an America that once was great, the land of opportunity....it may never come back. So much for the one world economy, how's it working out for you? The one world economy has created and made us equal to a lot of the third world countries, we have a lot of people unemployed fighting each other for a $14.00 an hour job.

I've been out of work for over a year. Sort of. I have my own business, doing bookkeeping and I work part time for a CPA (at half of what I was making before) and this is the trend I see. Offices need workers but they don't want to pay for benefits so they are hiring part time people. Half a job is half an income and it's hard to get two jobs that cooperate on the hours you work. I have also noted that some full time jobs that used to pay $25 or $30 per hour or more are now being advertised at $12 an hour. So, the government saying "Yeah, we're creating jobs!" is a bunch of (dare I say it?) crap. Part time and less pay are not paying our bills or feeding our families.

This seems too optimistic. With $5/gal gas around the corner, with foodprices and grain prices continuing to rise, and auto plants planning slowdowns or complete shutdowns (lack of parts from Japan) I wouldn't bet on all of these industries. They may need these workers, but can they afford them. I hope I'm wrong.

This employment sector is recession-proof. Noted Senior Caregiving website www.caregiverlist.com reports that more than 2,000 senior home care agencies have opened their doors in the last decade. They help connect senior caregivers with quality senior home care agencies. You can fill out a resume right on their site. Caregiverlist.com highly recommends you work with a Senior Home Care Agency because they are professionally licensed businesses and will abide by the business license requirements in their state and follow all the U.S. employment law guidelines.

How does one comment critically and not with the intent to offend?

This is how I'm going to do it:

If you are a college graduate, you need to be able to form a complete sentence. That includes proper punctuation, sentence structure and spelling.

I'm telling you, if you can't do these 3 things don't bother with sending out a resume. You're wasting your time.

If you're unemployed and waiting for someone to give you a job based on a piece of paper someone told you would be valuable you may be waiting a long time.

Start your own business! Take risks!

What blows my mind is how easily American youth are duped into believing a bachelors or masters degree is the end all be all.

Who do they think is going to pay their salary? Are you going to be a parasite and work for the state? Yes I meant parasite. Leach off the host (taxpayers) enough so you can live and hope you're never swatted away?

Are you going to work for some nameless faceless boss 1,500 miles away who wouldn't recognize you if his life depended on it? Then you can be paid a pittance and never realize your true potential.

Stop filling out online job applications and get some initiative and walk in and sell yourself to the manager.

Better yet, start your own business. Build it from the ground up. Of course its hard. If it was easy everyone would do it.

Turn off your tv and go the library.

And as far as everyone sharing... ok let's share the things you've worked for all your life.

Koombyeya isn't going to add value to anything.
