Nice to see someone is getting paid to post propaganda here. At least someone has a job. The truth is its not "Republicans" per se that want you to be poor. Its their secret corporate masters. Republicans are just idiots who are easily programmed to vote themselves into poverty by red neck tv.

Tom of CA 2:43PM May 26, 2011

Don't know where they got their pay scales but they are off by 30-50% at least in most of the areas they tracked.

Additionally, as far as Republicans wanting low wages and corporate big profits...read and educate yourself. When the Dem's are in it is a free for all...who can get the most money out of the government. When the Republicans are in they do their dead level best to quit the free for all...read entitlements! We can't afford these programs and to keep people on welfare generation after generation...and that is what is happening with this Democratic Congress!

If Obama gets back in in 2012, all hell is going to break loose. When does the dole end??? Big changes in welfare need to be made...women should submit to birth control is they have 2; submit to monthly random drug tests, as well as a police activity report for welfare recepients. That would eliminate all the those who think their government owes them because they keep having kids they can't afford. I heard one recepient say, "just because we are poor, doesn't mean we should live poor! Give me a break!

What is sad is that there is someone driving, or walking around, out there looking completely normal who actually believes the paranoia that Republicans would want people to be poor or to have to work two jobs. To what end? Two pieces of advice: (1) if something sounds crazy, it might well be, so check it out first with facts; (2) don't go online expecting respect if you can't even spell.

Laura Anderson of IL 7:03PM May 14, 2011

This is exactly what the Republicans want. Low wages for everyone and large corporate profits. Keep the people working hard maybe with two low paying jobs, that way the people will be too busy to vote or get involved in politics. You have seen what they're up to already. Kill the unions and get rid of any laws that restrict corporations. They haven't created any jobs, now their working on social issues.. They think they are so moral but the ones who crow about morality are the ones who are doing everyone they can and the good ones twice...example Newt Gingrich....

as a worker in the hotel industry I wish I was getting paid what is considered the industry average, me and my colleags work very hard and get paid less than half of that. Maybe some folks need to do some more thorough research to find out what many of the workers in these industries really make, not the supervisors positions, but the house keepers, the wait staff, the reservations clerks and you will find in a lot of places $8.00 is the hourly average and no raises are not commonplace

Computer systems design is pretty vague. Does this refer to hardware or software design? IT Architects, who design and integrate software systems are still getting paid very well. In fact, if you are doing that AND capable of orchestrating a global team from the US, you can make a very nice and GROWING salary.

A bit over the top, but generally on the money. Most of those who haven't yet been touched by this situation, and realistically 90% of us are still working at something and 3/4 of us are 'doing okay', are going to deny the obvious. Like all we have to do is 'stop spending', or 'lower taxes' or elect one of the GOP/Teabag/Fox 'News' bozos and suddenly 'happy days are here again'. Unless somehow someone seriously monkey wrenches the trend we're going to live in a world owned and operated by some of the worst fascisti mother

$%^&ers in the history of the world. Sorry, but that's how i read it.

American Dream? Gone! America needs new, sustainable, zero upkeep, zero running costs Solar homes for the plebs, the peons, the precariat, the new, service industry, part-time and occasional worker's income levels - no more McMansion bull Shiite, smaller, sustainable homes with mortgages in the realm of 'payable' by the peons! Food? Same story! Home made food from basic elements is cheaper, more nutritious, better for your health. Clothing too! a simplification, good solid hemp cloth, durable, washable, every-day wear, not the style bound rackets run today. Transportation too! Good, timely, methane fueled buses, nuclear electric rail services to replace foreign oil intensive planes, even battery cars for the short jumps left between!

The whole American lifestyle, and its goals are morphing as we speak. Even advertisers are modifying their wild visions, trimming them to fit the new reality. Even as the dollar sinks lower and lower, the gasoline prices rise in exponential fashion, Gold hits all new, world record highs, oil prices forced ever upward by stronger bids in Yuan from China, banksters take astounding chunks of money from the precariat, the democracy, the great propaganda whores spout the 'American Dream' nonsense as if the Golden Age of Cheap oil era was still with the American people. It is not! Paradigm shift is occurring, even against traditions, against civil codes, against a by-law strapped population, and America morphs, goes in a new, economically favorable direction.

We see great lines of unemployable, even recent graduates of our really poor college system joining them even before getting that first job! This is sickness! This a a serious symptom! This is a sign of what is to come! This is the tangible evidence that the American system does not work for the people! Will we heed it? Can the precariat overcome the establishment and make the necessary changes? By voting? in a democracy? Sorry! America is officially a corpocracy, even the votes of the peons out-weighed by the votes in the board-rooms of large corporations, corporations that buy influence, pay lobbyists, even have the power now to put their huge reserves of money into backing (buying) a candidate they favor, over and above the wishes of the peon in the street!

brace yourselves precariat! You are about to be busted. reduced to disenfranchised, semi-slaves! If it is in the corporate best interests. Look now at how corporate power over-rules the good of the American people! Google, torrent, the documentary, "Who Stole The Electric Car" This startling example of corporate interests being served over and above the wishes of the American people is quite clear. Where have the proven adequate domestically producible batteries gone? Why must we go now to expensive, imported, lithium based batteries? Follow the dollar for the answer.Where did the rare-earth miracle motors that made the car possible, go? Now check out the Deloran stainless steel car, rust-proof and servicable
