To the poster that said the house prices out near you are still higher than they should be, I just purchased my first home, a 2,100 sq foot 2 story that was built in 1980, sitting on 3.5 acres for $45,000 and no it was not a foreclosure, that's just how the home pricing is out here in the midwest.

Explain to me how the government can vote themselves a raise in this time recession and have mounts of benefits when the iney retire??? And you say the Americans are a greedy bunch?? Does this include the people who are governing this country of ours??.How many deals are made within the government that they make out always out of the "RED"???.I can't believe you don't think that the Americans are either poor or rich.Where in hell do you see a middle class in this country??.My wife and I have a budget of about 2,800 a month. Is this middle class??? neither one of us drink or smoke,go out to dinner;and we barely have enough to live on at the end of the month. We live in a 55 and older mobile home resident,we have no money to save at the end of the month. How about if we started printing money like the government does when they go short on their debts to others countries???..We need to acess who is at fault.I'am an American and spent allmost 20 years in a papermill and now the gov.wants to take away the montly payments I paid over the years is in trouble..You show me where the gov. isn't greedy and i'll show you a elephant jump!..just my opinion, but you need to have all the facts for us poor folks which this is coming to.

Housing. There's a silver lining to the epic housing bust that's been underway for five years: Falling prices, plus low interest rates, have made home affordability the best it's been in at least 40 years."

How can that be? 10years ago that same house that was bought for $120.000 dls, today is priced at $650.000dls and afew months ago was at $750.000dls. The house prices will keep falling and falling 'till levels out to reality after all the hot air is finally gone. No way no how a house will ever be worth the prices are now nor make sense housing appreciation by the 100's of thousands of dls in a few months, it is madness.

It used to be when we were all united that truckers went on strike because of prices. Now that we are for ourselves, self absorbed, we lack any unity and backbone to fight back. It's a game of who can endure the most abuse until you find yourself back in the colonies

Dare I suggest that some of you have a paranoia problem. The middle class is a necessity for a stable society. Americans are a greedy bunch, and when its' necessary to cheat some poor soul in order for someone else to profit, Americans will do it. Then they whine about a social democratic political system, which is the only compassionate solution to end poverty and greed.

If you need more money:

http://www.3rdear.com/861info/

This will help you. Ask you employer for another W-4 form and, where it says you can write in "exempt" if you feel that you should get ALL your deducted income returned from last year, write in exempt and write NOTHING else in the boxes you may normally write in 0, 1, etc, for deduction withholding. Don't even use zeroes, it will not work. Just write in "exempt", and your employer will stop deducting federal income tax, and you can keep your money. Your income is not taxable, anyway, and the form you are using? The form 1040 is for FOREIGN earned income. Are you a foreigner? Did you make your money outside the U.S.? 'Nuff said.

These people are no longer interested in money(thats the scary part!)they are interested in POWER AND CONTROLLING THE MASSES!The only way they can accomplish this is by weakening society!inwhich you see that they are gradually doing this now! All of this is happening to make way for the NEW WORLD ORDER!!! Again! these people are not interested in money(they already used to having that!) They are seeking ultimate power over all!!! To the point of trying to play GOD(H.A.A.R.P for example)Pay close attention to the things that are happening and you will notice everything that is happenening has far more to do with just money!! ITS THE POWER THEY SEEK!!!

This is our lot to deal with for the foreseeable future. Energy is king and we are slaves to it. The problem is that there are plenty of other ways to power cars, your house, business, etc. Many of those solutions have been thrown to the backburner because the energy business has strong lobbyists protecting their large profits. Our government is in bed with these guys, so we're never going to win. Energy can be cheap if the world can accept the alternatives and we can learn to be more conservative as users as well.

I don't like when I read that it's the American peoples fault that gas prices are where they are, that's bs that the propaganda folks want you to buy into. It's pure greed. How else do you explain a business that makes BILLIONS in profits each quarter, receiving billions in government subsidies? I mean really, this industry has played the American people for outrageous fools. We have people questioning how much the government should spend to help the people of Joplin. Local and federal governments are slashing budgets left and right. School budgets are hacked (these are our future leaders we are cheating out of an education). Yet we the American people, through our taxes, give billions of dollars to the most profitable companies in the world?!?! So they have one hand in your wallet at the pump and the other is writing checks off of your checking account. These guys are geniuses! The worlds most profitable companies can stroll into Washington and cry poor mouth. I am amazed.

The bottom line is, The price of gas controls everything!!! It is that simple!!! And all it takes is basic common sense to figure that out!!!!

When food and other products that we need are overpriced, consumers do not buy unless they really need to and when they do, they buy a limited amount because that is all they can afford!

When food and other products that we need are not overpriced, consumers will clear the shelves and spend their money like there is no tomorrow because now, they have all this extra money!

SO... since all the prices of food and other products are rising because of the price of gas and nobody wants to spend their money or they don't have the money to spend because they spent it for gas, (just to get to work so they can afford to put more gas in their vehicle), wouldn't it just make sense to lower gas prices?

It is obvious that the people in the goverment (and/or whoever decides to raise the prices of everything)... does not have the common sense to realize that if the gas prices were lower, then the prices of food and other products that people need would be lower and people would spend, spend, spend!!! It's human nature, who can resist a bargain? People would start buying things again that they don't even need just because the prices are lower!

Of course it would not happen over night, but everything would eventually all fall into place like the domino effect, the economy would skyrocket and the people that make these decisions would be even richer then they are now. By forcing consumers to decide what to spend their money on instead of lowering prices on everything and allowing them to buy it all, they are not only screwing us, they are screwing themselves out of even more money to stick in their already fat wallet!

It's funny to me though, that our goverment (and/or whoever makes the decisions to raise the prices of everything) just doesn't have the basic common sense to realize that. I guess I really should not be surprised by that!!!

Why limit consumers and leave them to have to decide between gas for their vehicle or buying an overpriced egg... when you can lower prices and then they can buy the gas along with the other 11 eggs and the bacon to go with it!!!

Shelly of MD 11:45PM May 25, 2011

There is no excuse for high gas prices. The economy has nothing to so with this. It's the greedy getting richer and richer while the poorer getting poorer. You don't have to see the price like we do. You have people pumping your gas for you or you have your own gas tank in your back yard. When we, consumers, take our last $20.00 to buy gas and we still have 3 days before payday, what do we do? We still have to buy food. $20.00 only give you a quarter's worth. It's hard living from pay check to paycheck. It's all about getting richer and richer. We are beat in the ground from the IRS. If you owe $50.00 dollars, they want it. If someone rich has not paid taxes in years or a celebrity don't file, they get away with it. There are filthy rich people in this world who won't dare help anyone. You have you billionaires, millionaires and others complaining about their taxes. With that much money, they will not miss it. It's just slefish and greedy. Tax cuts and tax laws prohibit certain class of people from the strict law that the poor have to suffer and it's not fair. The government take everything we make and then some. If this country is in so much debt, why can't the rich help. I know its their money, but help your country get out this mess and help the little people that need it too. The homelss, the jobless and the hunger. This woman that passed away (her father was a copper king), was richer than anyone could ever imagine. Money is so wasted in this country. If you hold on to money like that because you are afraid to spend it, or help someone or selfish, remember you can't take it with you. I know she did not have any family, but if the lawyers have taken most of it, I wouldn't be surprised. That is a lot of money to just sit on and do nothing with it. It could have been used for a lot of things. Donating to charities are good, but this country is a charity case for what it is worth. And not it is a scary place with gas prices, no jobs, homeless, food, etc. No wonder the country is falling apart, no one cares. It is all about SELF. There is no love, trust or honor for what this country represent. We are American's. Suppose to be the riches nation in the world, but I don't know. The love os not there. IRS don't care, governmnet, the rich don't care, but they can complain and critisize everything else. Money is wated everyday in the US and the finger is always pointing the other way as if the class and lower class caused it. Jobs are outsourced everyday and people are trying to blame the President. The country was already in bad shape before he took over and now.EVERYTHING IS HIS FAULT?" Not hardly. He is trying to help rebuild this country, but a lot of people don't want him to do anything for the American people. They find fault in everything he say and do. Help the President and he can help you. If the country continue to fall don't blame no one but yourself. If the American people really want things to change lets make the change together.
