I'm curious why harmfull material is being fed to the people, how did these these get passed the FDA, Flouride, Aspartame, Red 40 Blue 20 Yellow 16?

I'm not totally naive, i know that things like "natural flavors" cant be helped, but didnt some of these chemicals come out of WWII?

What everyone is missing is that there is a way to have the best of both worlds. You install a quality water filter that will produce the taste and health benefits of bottled water and use a reusable container eliminating the waste effect of prepackaged water. Water filters do not remove beneficial floride and minerials but do reduce chlorine, dirt and sediment, off taste and odors, Lead, asbestos, THMs, VOCs, Cysts, etc. etc. As to cost, it is pennies per gallon, one of the best buys on the planet.

When will this option be part of this debate...when it does, the debate will be over.

Well said Bill.

For whatever reason some journalists have decided that they will get attention from writing about this subject. I wonder if a thirsty journalist is driving and stops for gas what will they do?

A. Buy a bottle of drink (non-water)

B. Drink from a bathroom sink?

C. Fill up a reusable bottle from bathroom sink

D. Buy a bottle of water

Unless the answer is B or C then they are as pathetic as the band wagon they have blindly jumped on.

Water, it is your choice. Surely a journalist of any worth would spend some time informing the public of the different issues such as pharmaceuticals and hormones in nearly all our municipal water sources! When this news broke earlier this year it was hardly mentioned in the mainstream media.

Surely this ruse will run out of steam soon.

Are you out of your mind? This whole bottled water and the environment is a ruse by journalists. Here are the facts: Yes bottled water bottles are difficult to recycle, but why don't we figure out HOW to recycle them. What happened to American way of solving problems.

Most people drink bottled water for convenience. There is nothing wrong with it. Do you have any idea how many plastic bottles of carbonated soft drinks are sold every year? It dwarfes bottled water sales by comparisons.

We have a lot of problems to solve in this world and yes a better recycling system is one problem. However, it is such a small problem in comparison to dependency on foreign oil, multiple wars in multiple countries, our military being so spread out that it would be difficult to respond to an emergency, the weakness in the US dollar, the deficit that we are handing to our children and grandchildren, an education system that needs major overhauls to compete in this century, jobs being sent overseas, a Congress that supports so much pork it is ridiculous, and the effects of greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases really bad, bottled water bottles not even worth putting in the same sentence.

Additionally, did you know that Dasani (Coke) and Aquafina (Pepsi) are selling us tao water? The same water they use to bottle Coke and Pepsi? Why don't we start boycotting those brands. Coke and Pepsi have pulled the wool over Americans' eyes and given a black eye to the entire bottled water industry. Boycott Dasani and Aquafina. Teach big companies that it is wrong to trick us.

Get real. Stop reacting. Start solving problems.

Three years ago, when I started KOR Water, we focused squarely on the issue that bottled water is a much an "experience" as it is a convenience purchase. Focusing on industrial design, health safe materials, and the sustainability of a reusable container, we created the KOR ONE Hydration Vessel, which since announced a few weeks ago is attracting new consumers to consider a reusable.

Reusable containers don't have to be such a humbling experience when compared to bottled water, particularly when clean water is now the commodity and the vessel is the experience.

In 2006, the prestigious National Research Council, after reviewing hundreds of toxicological studies concerning fluoride reported that fluoride, even at the low levels added to drinking water to reduce tooth decay, can be harmful to the thyroid, bones, children's teeth, kidney patients, high water drinkers and infants. Further, they found studies linking fluoride to cancer and lowered IQ plausible.

Take action to stop fluoridation then less people will buy bottled
