There Should Be More to Green Fashion Magazines Than Hippie Chic

The mag is a lot less hippie chic than you might think... check out their launch party at Kaight in New York!

It's in fact quite diverse and appealing to a new steampunk ethic. I'm quite grateful myself frankly for the straying away from Martha Stewart magazine blandness. There's a lot of other looks in the world besides the upper east side!

I found this awesome website that I hope Boho finds and featuers in a huge spread! All the clothing there is super-chic and eco friendly. No flower prints any where either! I was surprised that all the clothes there were ethically made and either organic or eco-sustainable because they are all so beautiful!!!! Well, until Boho sees this store, maybe you guys should share in the bliss I found. www.embodies.com

I saw this awesome website with super-chic organic/eco sustainable clothing. No flower prints to be seen. I was amazed to find out all the clothes on the site are from truly ethical manufacturing. I wish Boho would check out www.embodies.com and do a feature on them!!!!!

I really like the styles in Boho. It's a great alternative to mainstream magazines. I've never cared about the designer tag on my clothes, but I do care if they are organic cotton or not.

Sure, Boho IS a FABULOUS magazine, but i find it a bit contradictory that i have to read an environmentally conscious-focused magazine on paper. sure, it's made of recycled paper, but this magazine should also offer subscriptions online.

i can't stand the thought of buying books on the subject of green "anything" and this sort of problem goes along those same lines. So, let's be consistent with our message.

Yeah . . . no kidding. My first thought exactly.

I didn't know you ought to dress flower power happy to be represent'n "eco" friendly.

Just kidding. But though I don't share Milly's enthusiastic sentiments that the magazine is fashion-forward and not "crunchy," she does point out one thing that I neglected to mention, since it was off-topic for a green blog - this magazine encourages very healthy body image, and that's a wonderful thing in a world of airbrushed "Please Your Man" magazine covers. The models are thin, but not unhealthily so. There are no articles with tactics to ensnare a husband. So, if there's one thing Gina LaMorte should be commended for, it's her decision to put forth a positive message about liking your body. I just happen to like mine when it's not dressed like a flower child.

I'm in love!!! Finally there is a magazine that is fashionable and funky and most of all FUN that doesn't leave me feeling like I need to lose 20lbs. and tons of money to look good.

Bonus... I love that it's not a glossy, all the random quotes, and that it features green fashion that doesn't look so "crunchy". I've been looking for this for 15 years since I left college in Vermont and grew up!

Boho Magazine & Gina LaMorte... thank you so much! I am anxiously awaiting next months issue!
