A Guide to Greening Your Music

It is so pleasant to realize that there are a lot of people who understand how important it is to change our habits which contribute to climate change. I also think that it is useless to buy CDs when there is mp3. As for me, I often download music at music SE http://www.mp3hounddog.com free. But is it weren't I would pay.

As a politically active musician dedicated to the green movement, this was a nice read. I've blogged about it here:

And how much of the carbon being saved reported by carbonrally.com will delay or prevent global warming? It will pretty much have no noticeable effect at all. Anything we in America do is pretty much irrelevant compared to what they're doing in India and China.

Nice article Maura. I think the beauty of this is that any improvement in small areas can lead to bigger habits later. I am a musician and definitely support the green movement. Digital distribution is awesome.

I spent 2 months last year in India and we as a global community really have to work at improving our quality of life by any means.

Yes, I certainly am aware of the fact that many other countries and corporations contribute to pollution more than the average individual. However, many of us are powerless to change what China and India and some of the other major polluters do. Therefore, some people like to learn what small steps they can take to make their life a little greener, even if the impact is not the equivalent of taking every car off the road in China. You may not subscribe to the belief that every little step counts, but that doesn't mean that there isn't a gratification in knowing that what you do can help, even if it's a teeny tiny minuscule bit. Sometimes, it's the best we can do. Check out www.carbonrally.com to see how many tons of carbon can be reduced by the sum of thousands of small actions.

China and India pollute the world more than the USA and you are worried about "greening" music? You are obviously sharing Kool-Aid with Al Gore who is making a fortune off his hypocritical stance. Read the book "Do As I Say..Not As I Do"
