10 Ways to Go Green and Save Cash—No Excuses

This article was good, but just last week I heard some conflicting advice. And it was from someone at a local home improvement and engergy fair. This guy said not to use a setback thermostat because it uses more energy to re-heat the house when you need to heat it back up again than if you just left the thermostat at a constant temperature. Then he said to seal the house up (as your article said) but not too tight because air has to be able to move. Talk about double-speak. And he said new, energy efficient windows aren't all that efficient. Geez, the guy must have been a politician. And this silliness about global warming -- the earth goes through warming and cooling periods. It's nature. Don't try to mess with it. The earth has been warming and cooling for millions of years. It's a cycle. Let it be. I do agree with the comments f rom ellie belle. I'm close to retirement, and I don't know if I'll even be able to afford it once our politicians get through with their health care plans. We really need to cut back taxes and everything else, and get back to basics. We can't be everything to everyone. Somebody has to learn personal responsibility. There isn't much of that around anymore.

Recology is a company that is planning to haul unrecyclable waste from Northern California to a dumpsite in Northern Nevada to the tune of 4000 TONS per DAY. There is a lot of opposition to this from the citizens of Nevada. I don't think the Citizens of California realize the severity of their waste.

it is good to be energy conscious, but "Scientists" say it is because of the ice age, not global warming...way to go al

We grow our own food that we can and have since 1966, buy only when it brakes down and cost too much to fix, don't get magazines or papers, have ordered new windows and meby work on doors if money allows,we are both retired with nothing but s/s and a very small pention, but our school taxes is enough to kill you and they keep paying the teachers more for doing less then ever before, then comes our great federal government and is going to tax all of us to death and this HEALTH CARE if it passes we won't be able to afford to go to the dr. for anything let alone go to the hospital, this is a no win society now and our childrens future is in no good shape at all---the new generation don't do how we did and we can hardly make it what will they do do this and do that is not what it is about----bring jobs back to this country so we have work to make money to pay our bills.

I thought your article was very well done and included tips I had not thought of before. Ignore the comments about taking the article off the web, that person can't even spell anyway. This should be kept on the internet. We need this type of information so we can all do our part.
