California May Ban Big Screen TVs

It will be the only choices available to them. That's called Socialism and the last time I checked I thought we lived in a Capitalist country where we could buy the kinds of cars, TVs and computers that we wanted. I wish California would fall into the ocean already so we can be rid of their stupidity

Only in CA. If they're willing to pay the bill, then who the heck cares! Not only that, but don't you think we'd end up buying those tvs from somewhere else, like NV or Oregon? I mean c'mon people, its not harmful to the world, and just because you don't like the idea of a big screen tv doesn't mean you have any right whatsoever to take someone elses right away. Both Jaymi Heimbuch and Hank Green obviously don't have degrees in Economics, that's why they work for companies called Treehugger and the like. Embarrassing. I grew up in CA, and its sad how obvious their problems are, but how stupid the government is in not knowing how to correct the problem.

Why big screen TV's? There are many other more power "hungry" devices in the average home! Obviously this was not thought up by a "techy type" engineer. This has to be some moron who knows nothing about power consuming devices! Besides, it would be more proactive to create standards for the big screen manufacturers to meet than to just ban these size of TV's. How about going after businesses that leave 175w outside lighting on during the day. Or freeway lighting....changeit all to solar, etcetera, etcetera.

How can such a great State be so darn STUPID!

Should California be forced to secede so the rest of us can survive? Possibly. They have ruined their economy with regulation that they expect others to pay for. When it becomes too bad for even them to stay, they move elsewhere and bring their poisonous ideas with them. You live in California, stupid. Where are your solar panels and wave generators? If everyone would just put in a solar water heater that would solve your energy problems. Please stay there and don't publish your ideas to the rest of the country

The stupidity is boundless. They will harm California businesses still more, while consumers begin buying their big screen TVs from Walmart.com. I think I also read somewhere that screens over 58" will be exempt. So maybe folks will go for the 60". A fundamental misunderstanding of how people make decisions - coupled with unmitigated hubris - is what keeps California's economy in perpetual dire straits.

what about my big surrond sound with 3 stereo amps that draw 1800 watts each ! are they gonna ban those ? I will just go to Nevada or Az. if they ban them and buy the stuff. I have a ford f350 and a 30ft trailer ! oh I forgot they want to ban pickup trucks too ! maybe they should get a brain and build more power plants and why are we still inviting people to immigrate here from other countries when we got a water shortage , power shortage , road shortage , etc. ?!?!?!?!?!?

While the mainstream national media runs constant cover for Obama, it is sad that they can't even attribute the most stupid regulations on the books to his political party as well.

Lefty democrats are stupid as one can get while claiming they are smart. I don't know how they can continually get away with this. This law, along with the people who propose and support it, are STUPID.

Stay in California, you morons. Do not spread your disease elsewhere. Maybe when the big one hits, you'll all be killed and the USA will be better off.

I will enjoy my huge plasma TV and fire up my power-hungry PS3 to play some blu-ray movies in your honor.

Idaho doesn't want you, go to Washington or Oregon......Californians are messing up Idaho as it is. Sell your house there for 1/2 million, come here and build a $300k home that's 10 times bigger and pocket your $100k. Then you work a $10 an hour job for the rest of your life and drive down our wages and economy. Fix your own mess, stop electing idiots.

california will not miss you.
