Who cares who he is dating or how many times he has been married? I have been listening to this man's music for 20 years and he is a musical genius. He cares about the world and the people in it and he's a cool guy.

He and Jolene are a couple, he's been divorced for a few years, they started dating after meeting at a photo shoot, she started sing along to his songs when he was playing his guitar, he liked her voice and asked her to sing back-up on his new album. They became close when he was hospitalized after his appendix ruptured last summer.

How many times has Michael Franti been married? I know he was married to Tara Rye, but I think they have since divorced. He also referes to Carla Swanson as his wife in an 2008 interview. Now he is calling Jolene Rust his "girlfriend". Wow hes a busy guy.

I agree Jolene looks a lot lot Tara. Does Carla resemble them too?
Im a big fan, lets not let this interfer with the music.

(Big Fan) No. Tara doesn't look like Jolene at all. I have seen Jolene in concert.
I am disappointed that Michael Franti is divorcing his wife Tara, the mother of his son, Ade. Rumour has it that he has been dating his business manager, Carla Swanson, for the past four years. Ouch. Sad day for me.
