Hot PETA Ad Banned From Super Bowl: Sex Doesn't Sell

Too bad they don't bother to tell you the truth--not only do they want you to be vegetarian, but they want you to be vegan, have no pets, and live in a world where ALL animals live in the wild. And that includes farm animals and service animals too. I'm all for humane treatment of all animals--in fact, I think it should be a lot more than just humane. But PETA thinks that animals should have all the rights that humans do and that any animal that is domesticated or anything but living wild is a slave and they have a right to not be a slave. Heck, my dogs are so well cared for my husband says when he dies he wants to come back as my dog. I guess no one at PETA believes in the Bible that animals were put on the earth to serve mankind. Research has shown that children that grow up with pets are more kind and responsible than children that do not and that the elderly live longer if they have a pet. Even watching fish swim in an aquarium relaxes the most tense and stressed of people. What about therapy animals? In the PETA world, there are NO ANIMALS AT ALL. They killed the animals that they "rescued" from the shelters. Do they tell you that? Absolutely not. They want you to believe that they are against killing animals--they are not. They just don't want any animals alive. If the mandatory spay/neuter bills that they are shoving down our throats are passed, eventually the only animals we will be able to get as our pets are sick ones shipped from outside of the country or from those horrible puppy mills. What happened to our rights as citizens of the USA? Are we going to let PETA and HSUS and other so-called charities take our rights away? I sure hope not. Wake up and smell the stench before it is too late.

Thank goodness it was banned. The Super Bowl??? These people need to get a life and stop corrupting our childerns brains!

Not only is it ridiculous to expect a network to put this on TV before 10pm, but the whole concept is a stupid way to hurt your cause.

Just like 90% of all other ads, shows, movies, etc. that our culture has embraced.

HELLO? Do you realize that this inappropriate ad which would have been viewed by both adults AND children on Superbowl Sunday represents the corrupt actions of extreme animal rights activists who are willing to spend millions of dollars to cram their vegetarian, no more pets, no more hunting, no more service animals agenda down our throats? Is this the kind of restrictive world you want to live in? Not me! And by the way, my pets don't want to live in this kind of world either because they will no longer be Man's Best Friends....they will be GONE! If you have never been to the PETA website, I suggest you go there and find out what they're really about. Then, check out the other side of the story at the website for the National Animal Interest Alliance http://www.naiaonline.org/index.htm

Kudos to NBC!

This ad sends the wrong message! It is not just "sexy" it is erotic. Who are they trying to reach? The message should be that veggies are good and healthy for everyone.

Susan of AL 11:09PM January 27, 2009

Ben Harder of DC is wrong. I doubt most cheerleading routines depict masturbation, and i doubt they include props as phallic as these. easy to see why the ad was rejected.

(...but not much racier than cheerleaders' routines)

Ben Harder of DC 10:17PM January 27, 2009

NBC has it backwards. Ads with violence are ok, ads with sensuality are not? How silly and puritanical.

Omnivore of CA 9:58PM January 27, 2009

compared to what? the stuff that's already on?
