I live and commute to work via bike in Austin Texas. Our city buses have racks for bikes, making bike commuting possible for those who don't live close in. Biking is certainly an important element of urban commuting here. I'd like to see that we continue to focus travel toward bicycle trails.

I accept not spending my tax dollars on bike paths when all interstate highways are toll roads.

If we're going to spend the tax dollars, a good bet is to put them towards bike paths.

In a nation with out of control obesity, sky rocketing health care, a junk food nation that is at the mercy of foreign oil, we can save all around by allowing people to at least have the option to ride a bike - rather than adding another lane to a 6 lane highway or another car to the road. Dollar for dollar it's a good play. If everyone biked to work twice a week, the above problems would be cut in half.

We don't need bike paths, we need the government to get out of the way anad stop spending our tax dollars.

There should be no stimulus bill to begin with. Henry Lamb put it best when when he described the governments ability to do anything right. He said, "Government has produced nothing, Government can produce nothing, Government can only limit, restrict, redirect, and generally impede the progress of individuals." Lets get back to what the founding fathers of this nation wanted. It worked well until Wilson screwed it up with the creation of the Federal Reserve. Doesn't any one find it odd that in the entire history of the Federal reserve, it has never been audited or subject to internal scrutiny. That the government does not have the right to do so. Let's start cleaning up the financial mess by eliminating the foreign banking interest we now have set up on our shores. Issue real money instead of debt notes. Not create debt for ouselves and future generations of Americans and call it stimulus!
