Look at all the butthurt fatties in the comments. The results are in. The numbers don't lie. Stop being cows. Instead of whining about how all the fit people are being big meanie poopheads and generating a conspiracy against, you how about you do something about it? You're fat because of poor choices and laziness. The end.

Diets and diet aids do not help anyone. The only way to successfully lose weight and get the body that you want is by using the right information. This information can be found in the book Lose Weight Using Four Easy Steps which can be gotten through the website www.bbotw.com Everyone who has gotten a copy of this book is now healthier.

I wonder how much of the world's resources are wasted on dealing with the problems caused by people who are simply not very intelligent. I'm not talking about people with true mental handicap, they are not stupid and likely contribute more in their own than those with supposedly "normal" intelligence who waste money and energy on studies blaming fat people for global warming.

Aside from the 1 minutes of my life that I will never get back reading this article, how much energy went into creating and distributing this study? What purpose does it serve except to further promote the prejudices faced by the obese in a society that rewards looks over brains and style over substance? I'm pretty sure that being thin and stupid is far more damaging to the evironment.

The argument is that obese people eat more therefore generating a larger carbon footprint. To properly calculate the equation, shouldn't the following be considered?

- obese people who are dieting and eating less than "normal" people - shouldnt they be excluded?

- "normal" weighted people with fast metabolisms who eat A LOT - shouldnt they be added?

- people with slow metabolisms that don't over eat but gain weight - need to be excluded

- 16 year old teen boys who eat parents out of house and home - need to be added

- anorexics should compensate for the obese who abuse the all you can eat buffets - this should be a wash

- what about the chemical crap in our food supply that changes our metabolisms causing weight gain even if we are not overeating - how do we figure out that one?

Sheesh - are we just a few years a way from getting the micro chip that will calculate all this for Big Brother?

Let's see. As me and my overweight friends pass by the beautiful people in their Priuses we wave and laugh at them from the HOV lane. See, my SUV with my carpool mates, gets more pound-miles per gallon of gas consumed than any Prius ever will. Oh, I'm overweight and in much better shape (less ailments and visits to the ER) than any of my skinny friends.

So my question is, what is the proposed "Final Solution" to the problem?

Demonized of MD 12:20PM April 23, 2009

Why am I not surprised?

I can't believe our taxes are used to pay stupid people coming with this simple 2+2=4 equation...

Is that what research is all about nowadays?

Counting cows farts?

I am overweight, I don't drive and I don't eat more than once a day...

How about putting the blame on the real fat cats or pigs who ruined our economy?

I really doubt a 20-stone poor Detroit worker driving a toyota does more harm to the planet than a rich fit boy driving a hummer, bentley, private jet or whatever he fancies...

How about greaseboarding?

Gimme a break for fat's sake!

Penny of CA: I am very much in tune with the tone of your argument and I understand WHY you might feel that you are misunderstood: I am skinny and athletic and very much a minimalist in my approach to consumption. But society sill hates me because I am that most dreaded of all human types, a SMOKER. Noone bothers to check the fact that I smoke only 6 very light cigarettes (.5 mg tar, .1 mg nicotine) per day and never in public. I have no health problems. I am still a pariah, as it were. Some of the people who hate me are, not surprisingly, obese. Interesting how life works, isn't it? They bash me so I will bash them. Would that we could be a little more tolerant. Naaaaah, that will never happen -- we must keep score.
