The writer did not make up anything regarding the ugly building draped with a tarp. She was not referring to the Hilton, but an abandoned building on Mount Washington. C of PA of PA should check his or her facts.

Thanx for a job well done! If it weren't for you, us Pittsburghers would have had to defend our own territory. I thought it was hysterical to hear of fellow Pittsburghers standing outside their Bloomfield homes and businesses with bats and pickaxes. Because had that been my neighborhood, this docile mom would have been doing the same. Pittsburgh isn't your average city. We are one big, large, and very proud community. So in a sense, the law enforcement officers may have been doing the illegal protestors a very big favor.
The legal and peaceful protestors were great! It was nice having you visit!
Oh, and BlueBerry Pick'n, we get the "drift" also. We have very strict and costly emission controls on our cars to make up for pollution from other states. We also have very strict and costly controls on factories. Yet we will still have extremely rare days, that we have a high pollution index. And that pollution is not from Pittsburgh. So I can understand how you feel. And so does my wallet. Other states need to do their part.

You refer to a building so ugly they had to cover it with a tarp? Are referring to the building at the point draped in a "Welcome to Pittsburgh G20 Summit" with Welcome in 20 languages? The reason the building was draped is not because it was so ugly and deemed a blight as you profess it's because that building, the Hilton Hotel, is undergoing major renovations and is an active construction site. Since it's prominent location is visible when entering the city, they decided to drape the construction site. So please, don't make things up.

All of the major media have missed the story of Nine Mile Run, a once polluted stream in the city that was left for dead, a casualty of the steel industry flowing between two enormous slag heaps. Nine Mile Run is the largest urban stream and aquatic ecosystem restoration project completed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 2006 at the cost of nearly $8 million dollars. but the **pollution drift** from the American Rust Belt managed acidify & to kill off all the lakes in Nova Scotia & New Brunswick.
& wrecked havoc on the Grand Banks fisheries.
The lakes of the Eastern provinces were *destroyed* along with much of the ecosystems of those regions, mainly from the pollution drift.
Out of sight, out of mind! or is it 'gee, who cares what happens to non-Americans?'
keep your pollution to yourselves.
we've had enough 'American gifts', thanks.
Homeland Security continues to 'give' the World so much we already don't want...

The National Guard and Pittsburgh Police have fired the first shot on American citizens with sound cannons and tear gas upon American citizens who were protesting the robbing of the taxpayers money and bankrupting the United States of America by design, by the Federal Reserve in sympathy of the Global Elitists and the Foreign Off-Shore Bankers in a Corporate take over along with all of the illegal Bills and Policies President Barack Obama and the Democrats and some Republicans have forced on the American people! It seems the American Military no longer belongs or is in structure to protect the American people, buy is now bought and owned by the Off-Shore Foreign Banksters and will obviously and has acted in Treason toward the United States, by shooting at citizens therby telling followers of the Constitution of The United States we no longer have a military for our protection! We will have to build our own for protection by what means we can - I suppose!
Each State needs to leave the Union and all that do leave it amongst the Independent States we will have to make a joint military plan! This is the only sensible solution I can see to provide any kind of protection for our rights under the Constitution!
We have been betrayed by our illegal Government, there is a good portion of them that need to be tried for High Treason!
We are not the terrorists - our Government, Military and Police are the Terrorists!
