There's a group of redundant people in the UK who call themselves the EDL, fly them to the sites and let them do something positive for the planet.

secondo me basta costruire un' attrezzatura che ho già ideato. e' meccanizzata e può avvicinarsi alla falla, agganciarsi, chiuderla e convogliare il petrolio in superfice. secondo me funziona!

Are there any temporary jobs available for helping the Mexico/Lousianna Gulf Coast oil spill? :Available to relocate

Think enormous aquarium filter. As large as a tanker.

What is the fiber used used in food grade 'oil mops' ? Water is pumped out of the ocean, through the filter & back into the ocean. Of course the intake has a screen to keep sea life out, and the filters have to be changed, but it's better than nothing.

Hopefully the experts will view ALL ideas & someone will come up with an answer soon.

What if they drill larger pipelines around the broken one relieving the pressure then clog it or put a larger pipiline around the broken one sealing it off??

Every state on the gulf coast except for Florida, voted Republican in the last elelction, the party of "Drill baby drill". They wanted this off shore drilling in the worst way, and as the old Chinese proverb says: "Be careful what you wish for because you just might get it."

BP did exactly what the R's preach should happen. They looked at the Acoustic Blowout Preventer and decided it wasn't worth the 1/2 million dollars it cost. In the absence of government controls, they went ahead without it. Now the gulf coast is reaping what it sowed.

Anyone that can stand up still and with a straight face say that we need less government, less regulation of business and the environment and more off shore drilling has got to be living in la-la land - oh, wait, that's right, the R's DO live in la-la land! Haley Barbour, the former GOP National Chairman and Governor of Mississippi, says "Oil, what oil? It's like the sheen you get from your power boat."

Related to the hair idea, hay can alsobe used to collect oil. The oil attaches to the hay and cleans up the water. The fishers that are out of jobs can use their boats to pick up and disperse the hay. Of course, this only helps with the top layer of oil, but i think some progress is better than none. The collected hay could be burned for energy also.

I am very disgusted that here it is 49 days since the explosion and there is still thousands of gallons of oil still being spilled into the gulf everyday. I may not be from Louisiana but I am a native of Mississippi and I am a wildlife finatic. Seeing all these birds and turtles and any other animals unable to defend themselves, eat and clean themselves is so heartbreaking. These animals are defenseless because they don't have us to take care of them everyday like our personal pets. We can not let this continue to happen. Why can't our government fix this problem. Blow the rig up and tap into the line somewhere else if possible, if not just blow it up and forget about it. If it is too deep to fix it is too deep to drill. Bp is too worried about money in their pocket, but what about the fishermen who can not go shrimping or crabbing and that's the only income they have and it's gone.

I totally agree with Dominick! Why are'nt takers out there sucking up these huge plumes that have formed withing the Gulf. Are they just going to wait for it to come on shore and scoop it up with and shovel or are they (politicians & BP) hoping it will just go away! Why didn't we accept help from the other countries who offered? The good old US of A is always the first to volunteer our tax dollars to help other countries. What happened to helping your own first. Michelle Obama please make a television commercial to plead for help for your countries citizens!

Why are we not using tankers or supertankers to suck up the oil

that is in the plumes that are between the surface of the ocean and

the bottom, we could then send the tanker to a refinery to be separated.

Also, What is happening to the idea that Kevin Kosner has that uses

centrifuges to separate the oil from the water?........

I see no action by BP or our navy to use this idea!
