Just another example of the hypocrisy of the people who want to "redistribute" our money. $150 million???!!!??? Could we NOT find better thing to do with that money? How about a simple inaugural ceremony in the Rose Garden and giving the $150 million to the needy? As for the money being spent on the hotel rooms.......outrageous! Let all the people who are "feeling for the needy" stay home and write a check for the amount that they would spend on their hotel room to the local mission or homeless shelter. Americans are riding their love for excess straight down the economic toilet.

For the Inauguration of the 43rd President George W Bush, approximately 40million dollars were spent with all the Nation in an uproar about costliness. Now that Obama is spending over 150million dollars for his Inauguration, will there be similar dispute?

Ok! these prices are crazy! even with a limo, with all the people that suppose to be in the city you will probably end up walking. Where can the not so rich stay?

The Pennsylvania Democratic Party still has hotel rooms available at the Washington Plaza hotel. This is an upscale hotel right in the center of the Inaugural activities. At $2500 for two nights, plus tickets to their Inaugural Ball, this seems like a real bargain. The link to their packages is http://www.padems.com/node/1703

Will there be any places for the not so Rich?

We would like to know ?

Thank you , Jim

With all the hoopla, this 'inauguration' is starting to sound more and more like a 'coronation'.

Well, I guess for those who can afford these luxury packages, they might as well go for it and enjoy it. It may be their last chance before all their wealth is redistributed.

I find it quite interesting that these notably high end bastions for the wealthy have an eco-conscious spin on most of their packages. That is, with the obvious exception of the Mandarin which seems dead set on being the sole harbinger of global warming.

Is this the beginning of a new era of informed excessive spending?
