I live near Juarez,and I travel from El Paso walking by foot over the bridge and nothing has ever happened to me. I have heard of all of the drug/cartel wars, but it has not affected those of us coming over from El Paso into Juarez (which is a border town). As long as you don't go deep into Juarez where the drug cartel wars are going on, you are safe and have nothing to worry about. Also, if you are not involved with any of that you have nothing to worry about! I go over there from time to time with my husband to go to the Dentist or Optimetrist for new prescription eye-glasses, because it is a lot cheaper than in the States!! Also, the Mexican food is great and I have never gotten sick! Just don't eat off of the Street boothes and you'll be alright. The News Media blows everything out of proportion and you shouldn't believe everything you read.

I am living in Mexico right now, and love every moment of it. As for the swine flu, that is the greatest joke of the century. How is this any different from people dying yearly from influenza? All of a sudden the media plays into it and people go wearing masks that don't even protect them against the swine flu. I don't feel preoccupied about any of this, and I believe the entire situation is being blown out of proportion for underlying issues. As for the drug wars... well, unless you are involved in it than you have nothing to worry about. Crime takes place all over the world. Every minute something occurs whether it is good or bad. You have a greater chance of getting mugged in New York City, or held at gunpoint in Los Angeles then being attacked by a drug trafficker. And for the earthquake... come on! It's not Mexico's fault that the earth is releasing pressure. Last I recall, earthquake's are natural disasters, and it's good when the earth releases pressure from time to time. Just like you are releasing your own pressure here in this blog of yours. Bad things always occur in three's, and Mexico paid their due's. Now how about give them a break, and say something positive. The people of Mexico are hard workers, and they live day by day. All this negative press doesn't do them any good, because they make their money off of travelers like yourself.

I live in Dallas and travel into Mexico almost every week and never have I felt unsafe. Most of the violence is centered in the border region. 149 deaths out of 100,000,000 people in Mexico--the odds are pretty good. We don't even know if these really died from swine flu. There are places in most large US cities I would not go, but I would not hesitate to take my family to Mexico, even with all the bad, sensational press.

I spent last month travelling from Vereacruz to Oaxaca to Puerto Vallarta. Mexico is a really safe country. The drug wars are at the border, not the whole country.

Hi!! I´m sure you´ll enyoy your trip, there´s no problem in Cancun. Cancun is so far from "Swine Flu", "Earthquakes", and "Drug Wars".

The Calender ends in 2012, so be objective.while there are many such predictions from the mayan, ancient chineese callender that ends at the same time,, computor predictions suggesting the same, etc,,, but how about this,,, what does the governments of the world know,,, the international space station is scheduled to be finished before the end of 2012
