A Guide to Tipping Etiquette

Should we tip more because an server is employed to work at a more expensive restaurant than we do at an inexpensive one? Does that person perform more work or work better and have more value to us than the later? A server in a more expensive restaurant might be a little snooty about being tipped less than 20%, but heshe is still getting more than a good server at the cheaper establishment. I would prefer to tip based on the actual value of the service.
