Hey, great ideas but one of the best and inexpensive weatherizing methods, low-e window film, is never mentioned. The window films reflect the radiant heat back into your house instead of letting it go straight out the window and the are approved for the federal tax credit. We bought ours from SnapTint (snaptint.com) and installed them ourselves in one afternoon. I was very impressed with how much more comfortable our rooms were and how much our heating bill decreased. Check out SnapTint's website at snaptint.com for more information.

I think it's always good to improve your home. There is only one problem: you can't do everything on your own! I improved my home as good as I could, but there will be things to do you can't do on your own or you are not able to afford companies help. Because of this problem I started to barter on BarterQuest.com. I bartered carpenter service for my dental service and it works! It's a Win-Win situation!
