Thanks for the tips. Preventing disease is much more cost and time effective than curing future ailments. The same goal-keeping tips can be used for that as well. Start with one habit and make it healthier, small steps make big differences over time. Check out this awesome blog for more tips on living the best life you can: http://blog.mydiscoverhealth.com/

One of the reasons why so many New Year's Resolutions never make it to reality could be because they're made at such a frenetic time of the year. Packed with gift-buying, parties, travel, extended family gatherings, plus eating and drinking on a monumental scale, the Christmas Season doesn't lend itself to thoughtful reflection or realistic aspirations.

I think breaking tradition and spacing resolutions and goals throughout the whole year sets up a better chance of success:

Thanks for this. We often make new years resolutions to feel good about ourselves, as a way of starting the new year off on the right foot, and not two weeks into it end up 'breaking' our resolutions, and beating ourselves up over it. Tips like short-term goals (2 weeks stints) and positive instead of negative goals tend to be extremely helpful. I think a lot of times we make resolutions focused on restriction and deprivation, instead of something more positive and productive. What if instead of vowing to lose 10 pounds this year (and then beating ourselves up for not accomplishing it) we try reading a new book every month, or spending more time with our kids? With more positive goals, we build ourselves up for success instead of failure. Check out these and other ideas at:
