The article incorrectly states that you can contribute to your Tradional or Roth IRA until April 18th or your extended deadline. The deadline is April 18th whether you file an extension or not. If made after this date it will be applied to the 2011 tax year.

The article says your can only take advantage of the "savers credit" if you make under $27,750 single or $55,000 married/joint filing. But, then it goes on to say that you can save up to $250 if you are in the 25 percent tax bracket....You'd make too much if you were in the 25% bracket to take advantage of this credit:

25% Bracket single - $34K - $82K / married joint - $68K - $137K
