Why are Big Banks’ CD Rates so Pathetic?

The big banks are safe places to keep your money when it comes to the possibility of the bank failing. I have heard of people who lost thier cd accounts and lost all or much of thier money because they invested in a cd with a small bank. In these changing times , a five year cd in a small lesser known bank seems dangerous !

Rates have been bad for two years now. A few websites I use to get the best rates are www.rockstarbanks.com and www.bankrate.com. I prefer rockstarbanks.com because the rates are better and its easier to use.
