8 Truths About Extreme Couponing

Back to blog

at least 3 out these 8 are actual "truths." Don't label your terribly written piece like that if you don't have the proof to back up an actual 'truth'. Nerves of steel? Really? It's not like once the item is scanned you HAVE to buy it. There is no initial and hidden contract that once it is scanned, you must buy the item. That's total crap. So if you mess up and you can't afford something, you can always put it back. Who cares if you look like a dummy in front of 7 people. That's the amount of people who will actually care what you're doing anyway. I am an extreme coupon guru, and this piece of writing is mostly a big waste of time. Here's a real report.

Wow...are you serious?!? This is the most uneducated article...I wanted to say ever, but I've seen some pretty bad ones. These are all stereotypes. You don't have to "extreme coupon" to get savings. When there is a good deal, I use anywhere from two to (possibly) seven coupons. I don't clear shelves and I don't buy more than I feel we will use in a few months. Usually, it's not even what we'd use in a few months, because I already have some. So, if I can get fruit snacks for a quarter a box?...yeah, I'm gonna buy 16 of them..Know why? 'Cuz I have 5 kids that I pack lunches for and every little bit helps....just sayin

Who ever wrote this article just copied away from somewhere and neither of them have it right.

You do not need to pay subscriptions for coupons. 90% of coupons are free. You can go to coupons.com redplum.com or smartsource.com along with Target and Walmarts own websites.

You can find coupons hanging in the store, on facebook pages, on Company websites and more. I do not pay for newspapers either. I go to the recycling bin and get as many as I need and then recycle what I do not use.

You do not need to make a investment of any money in couponing! Only in your time!

You do want to start small. Try using only 3 coupons the first time out. The next week increase it, try looking in your grocery store circular for cheap items, then hit google and try to find a coupon that matches. If you buy the item at Walmart and the item is say $2 and you have a coupon for $3, Walmart will give you cash back. Tony from PA has no idea what he is talking about. I do this every single day! Good Responsible Couponing for good info!

What the extreme couponer had done is ruin it for the rest of us. Most of the stores in my area have stopped the doubling of coupons. Also, most of us don't have the time or space to do this extreme couponing. And, who needs 90 bottles of hot sauce? So the next time you see an extreme couponer, stop cheering them on. They are causing you to lose benefits you might have gotten.

The nonsense you see on the television show is total and utter BS--show me one store (not a bunch, not a lot, just ONE) that doesn't reserve the right to limit the number of coupons you can use on a particular item or limit the quantity you can buy on items on sale. The most ridiculous part of all is when they claim an item is on sale for a great price and they have a great coupon so the store is going to OWE THEM MONEY for the item. Right, like a store is actually going to pay you to take an item from their store. I watched this show once after hearing people talk about it, and it is TOTALLY unbelievable. You know what? If you can get 173 air fresheners for a total of $1.27 more power to you. But I call BS.

The points in this article are false. Starting with number 1. There are no stores that double in my area and I make out just fine. I actually do most of my shopping at Walmart and take advantage of the price match. My grocery bill for a family of four is about $100 a week on average and we have so much food we end up feeding extended family and neighbors. Find a different article to learn about couponing cause this one is false.

The reason she hasn't responded is because she really doesn't care what you think. You are clearly ignorant! Shopping price per unit is part of it! You get the cheapest price per unit and then put a coupon on top of it. But I won't bother wasting my time giving you a lesson on couponing. I don't really find it to be a hassle. I actually enjoy it. Furthermore, I can afford everything I buy without a coupon! But why would I do that when I can get it for less? If that doesn't last for ever so be it. In the mean time...I will continue to use my coupons and have more money to spend later when it is no longer an option. Seems to me you're the one that needs to learn something. Enjoy your shopping and while you do know that for every $100 you spend..we're spending $50 or less :)
