I have used roomorama as well and it was awesome, they have places all over! You should definitely check it out if you are looking to travel for less.

I know a great home-rental site, I've used them a couple of times in big & expensive cities thus I saved quite a bit on accommodation. I highly recommend them; www.roomorama.com

Check out their videos first if you have no idea how such rentals work.

Home Exchange is a great way to holiday and more and more of us are doing it, from all different walks of life and age groups. It may not suit everyone but it is said if you try it once you will do it again and I agree with that.

We offer three types, the normal swap at the same time, a Non-simultaneous Exchange when you swap at different dates and Hospitality Exchange which is when you stay with your swap partner and then they reciprocate later.

Have a look at some Home Exchange websites and see what is on offer. Some sites are good, some not so, some are free and some charge, although I think too much at times. Some exchangers also sign up with more than one website, which I also recommend.

If you have any questions please have a look at our Q&A page which may help you with some of them.

However you vacation, enjoy your travels.

House swapping is great way to save on one of the most biggest costs of a holiday - accommodation. You can also swap your car for additional savings. And who doesn't prefer a house to a single small hotel room.

For a complete guide on finding and arranging a house swap take a look at http://www.1sthomeexchange.com/holiday-home-exchange-tips.php

I hope your readers appreciate the article as it has sound advice. They might not know that they can book monastery accommodation in Italy via our website - www.monasterystays.com. Other catholic countries do have accommodation but not to the same extend, as Italy is the home of the catholic faith. Italian monasteries were updated in 2000 and so offer en-suite/private bathrooms at attractive rates and they do have single rooms.
