This is really bad advice...Filing for bankruptcy is often a good route to take.

Take the author's advice and charge your mortgage payments to your credit card instead of paying anything off. If your mortgage company won't let you do this, maybe take cash advances from your credit card to make your house payments. Not having a mortgage payment (due to short sale, etc.) would be terrible. You could go crazy and buy 14 houses while in mortgage payment withdrawal!

Terrible advice. Perpetuates the belief that bankruptcy is the worst thing that can happen in someone's life, so continue drowning in the sea of debt rather than making a sound financial decision for that individual's financial as well as mental health. Not to mention the rest of the advice is either
1) obvious or
2) lame.
Seriously, yahoo is probably the worst place for money advice. I don't know why I continue reading these forum linked articles.
