#1 was titled "Always a borrower be." Lol, we used to call those folks "Moochers." As for the debt traps I remember what my Grandmother always said, "John, the real American Dream is to live debt free and in America you can do that." She immigrated from Ireland in the early 1920's.

It should be said that prepaid cards are becoming increasingly popular. Some really good offers have started to appear in the wake of the passing of the Durbin Amendment to the financial overhaul legislation of last year, which made debit cards a much less profitable line of business for card issuers, but made no changes to existing credit and prepaid regulations (with very few exceptions). More specifically, a new American Express prepaid card is fee-free, with the sole exception of a $2 ATM charge, only assessed after the first withdrawal.
