This all sounds great. Here's the problem, I have a sales job that requires 12-14 hour days, 6 days a week. Commission only, averages about $35k per year. I have no 'marketable' skills in today's on-line focused world, (I'm older - a baby-boomer, and my skill set was more useful in the '70's). I live in a small town (less than 1000 people, no paved roads), 2 hours to the nearest community of any size (a whopping 15K people), and 3 hours from a 'city' (185,000). I have run through every last dollar of savings and retirement (140K total) just to stay afloat over the last decade.(Yes, really. All accounts went to $0 over the last year) My wife works, actually earns more than i do, but our 'hard' bills leave us with just enough to live on, no potential for savings. And we DO NOT live extravagantly, 1200 sq ft metal building for a house, two used cars - both upside down. I HAVE to earn extra money, now, so maybe I can retire when I'm 80. But I have no time, and no useful or marketable skill to 'sell'. (well, OK, I'm a damn good cook, but that takes time I simply don't have, to become a 'personal chef'. Not to mention, to whom would I market such a service way out here in the 'boonies' where everyone cooks?). And no, this is not a 'tourist' area, people don't even pass through here on the way to somewhere cool. We have hay, and that's pretty much it. Oh, and a highway a few miles from here. No trees, no canyons, no water, no beach, no mountain. Just flat hay field.
What do you tell someone like me? "Suck it up and just fade away gramps. It's time for that "end of life" discussion." or "Hey, stupid! Move your butt into a town and maybe you'll be able to make enough to retire." or "Go back to school, learn a new skill, move into town and get a 'real' job."
I know this sounds like some kind of joke, but seriously, it's not. I really am in this predicament. And there are others like me. Pretty much everybody in this town, and several others near here. And no, I do not know why we stay, too much of a chicken to move I guess.

I rarely participate in these comments, but I really have to share my story with 1 company which has tremendously helped me. I guess I have a lack of confidence in your Passive Panda project as you have not done your research. Websites like kickstarter.com are nothing more then a scam. And I would have to ask why you are promoting scam sites, in fact I am wondering if it is your brain child.
Are you actually expecting people to give you money for suggesting money making options like selling things on...Craiglist?
Yet another site of very questionable integrity.
You must be kidding.
I think I will just continue selling my handmade jewellery the old fashion way...minus all of the scams
