I rarely participate in these comments, but I really have to share my story with 1 company which has tremendously helped me. I just turned 74, many obstacles have come in the way of my retirement including a divorce a few years ago which really hurt me financially, to be honest I had this feeling that my savings and SS income were not going to be enough. Months and months of research and dealing with big banks - nothing but a big headache and they wanted to charge an arm and leg - I was considering a standard home equity loan but then I started reading about reverse mortgages. Long story short, i found this company while searching online - reverse mortgage lenders direct - they were able to automatically compare lenders for me and quote me a fantastic quote. I am not saying you need to do a reverse mortgage (for me this has been excellent and recommendable) but if you do here is their number 877 700 0534 - you can find the site online search for reverse mortgage lenders direct.

Prepaid cards are by far the fastest-growing type of non-cash payment method, but they are also not nearly as much regulated as credit and debit cards and you should carefully read the terms and conditions, as well as all fee disclosures, before purchasing one. http://blog.unibulmerchantservices.com/a-brief-history-of-prepaid-cards

BTW that union card is just a BankFreedom account with a different name on it and its not that great.

The best prepaid card program I have found is the Working America prepaid program that is backed by the AFL-CIO and unions. There are no fees to activate, no monthly fees if you deposit funds, they even give you a high-yield savings account at 5.10%. Originally set up as a benefit for union members by Union Plus, the Working America financial program can be used by anyone.

Visit www.myunionprepaid.com and select the Working America card - It is FREE to get a card and does so much more than any of these other prepaid cards.

In addition, you get discounts on car rentals, movie tickets, AT&T discounts and all sorts of other benefits.

All of these other cards just seem to be trying to cash in on the consumer.
