I put all of my refund into my emergency account. That way when I need that extra 18 dollars to buy another share of a particular stock or bolster my portfolio, it's there! 6 month emergency fund? What world are they living in? I'd settle to pay my bills and feed my kids with the same paycheck!!! THank you accountant to the stars. Another worthy read from the completely out of touch!

This advice only seems to apply to middle to upper class people. It would be bad advice for anyone who struggles from pay check to pay check - especially the last two tips. For example, this assumes you have a bank account- and yet many families in poverty don't even have that. PLZ DONT FORGET ABOUT THE FAMILY MEMBER OR FRIEND THAT HELP U OUT. TAKE A LITTLE OF UR TAX REFUND AND FORWARD A LITTLE TO THAT PERSON. IT WILL LET THEM KNOW U WERE GRATEFUL AND ADD TO UR BLESSING.

Perhaps a question to be raised is why do people have such large refunds rather than planning better and keeping their money all year long?
