Ya don't need a accountant if you OWE the IRS..I do my own..saves me money...If you make a mistake they correct it and bill you .Line 12b on the 1040A.is the most difficult for retired seniors..Especialiy for PSO(public safety officer).Figureing .085 tax on your SSI then takeing the 3,000 off for medical premiums...all crammed on one line...Truly they could do better..It makes you look like your trying to commit FRAUD if your wrong on the calculation. Most IRS TAX Agents are not properly trained on this..Nor does the 1040 Instructions explain this line item in detail...

Nice article, but there was a point that I would like to add on why people can opt for tax extension. During tax season, tax professionals can get super busy and may not be able to properly focus on each person's tax returns which may result in incorrect filing and during high tax season tax proff charge high fees than normal. Applying for tax extension allow a tax proff to give one on one focus to the tax returns of the tax filer and also they charge less in off tax season. I read this on an article provided by ezextensiontax.com
