I got married a year ago and filling jointly but i didn't know my wife had a considerable amount of debt from 5 yrs ago , from before we met. I don't mind them taking the refund and put toward the debt but can they seize my personal bank account and my wages? What can i do? I didn't know she had debt.

Her debt was scholarship money that she never filed during her freshman year in school.
