The HVM, LLC hotel chain which includes the brands Extended Stay Deluxe, Extended Stay America, Homestead Studio Suites, Studio Plus and Crossland Economy do not give discounts to active military personnel. They give discounts to government employes (state and federal), but NOT to active military personnel. Please let these brave women and men know we honor their service by boycotting the hotels mentioned above. Please go to Change.org and sign the petition asking for discounts for these wonderful giving men and women. Thank you.

We've traveled (and saved) a bunch using the Armed Forces Vacation Club (http://www.afvclub.com). Basically, you can stay in vacation condos for $369 per week; the condos are typically unused timeshares. We've stayed in places as diverse as the Costa del Sol in Spain, North Carolina's Outer Banks and Mexico's Cancun. Great site -- worth a look for active and retired folks.
