Maxing Out the National Debt Clock

The vast majority of the national debt is not in domestic bonds, but in loans from China. So, in the event of an international crisis (as in Darfur), how are we to effectively oppose China's just-get-the-money-and-ignore-moral-questions policies (which has trickled down into its milk bottles), when we're doing the same thing?

When we go to the Amero (?) that will cancel out the dollar as it did the Franc and the Mark, etc.

Aren't you glad to be an Amero spend thrift?

Want to know how we got here?

McCain-Palin will create tax breaks for Manhattan real estate developers so that they can AFFORD fancy new clocks. Without McCain-Palin, we may never know the true size of our national debt. Barack Obama's tax cuts for the middle class won't get us a new clock, will they? Therefore, I'm voting McCain-Palin all the way.

Ron Paul was the only one who hit the nail on the head with this issue and no one gave him the time of day. Uncle Sam has no money of his own; it is our money and he is spending it faster than we can give it to him. If America falls in our lifetime, it will be because of the national debt and the fact that nobody will do anything about it because cutting spending and ending unjust entitlement programs -- Social Security and Medicare -- won't get anybody elected.

When will we all stop spending and start to pay off our debts? If I ran my hosehold like this I would be out on the streets. Eight years of no progress is enough!

Quadrillion..its such a large number that it sounds made up. And let's not forget that its been jumping $500 Billion each year since 2003-- interesting that each year after that was a Bush/Cheney year.

If all encumbants are voted out the major parties have stooges waiting in the wings to take thier place that will tow the line and keep things the way they are.

Vote independent.

You've beensmacked. Now wake up!

Since the Dow is below 10,000 now, that's a digit that's not needed anymore...so let's recycle it!

Since a great number of legislators in D.C. are independently wealthy, there is no way on Gods green earth they can comprehend the magnitude of the devastation their incompetance has wrought. Do any of you out there actually still believe that elected officials give a damn how much you pay for food, heating oil, gasoline? Why should they: For the most part all of of their day-to-day expenses are coming out of YOUR wallet, not theirs.

I am 62 years old. I grew up loving my country, respecting the sacrifices those who came before me made to ensure my freedom.

This is NOT America. We are living in a Kafka-esque version of the United States in which up is down and down is up. When will this end?

Argggggggggg

Bill Clinton left with surplus and debt about 5 trillion. Bush erased the surplus to a deficit of half a trillion and debt doubled. And people still voting for replublicans? Shame shame.
