I tried to get an idea of how much that really is.

1,521,000.00 for ever day of every year since the time of Christ. Now how does someone imagine that?

Does anyone have any idea as to where to start? yes I do. the first step should be to stop payments of SS and SSI or any social funds to those who have not paid their 40 quarters, stop payment to all those who are getting SSI because they are brain dead from doing drugs and now can't work, stop payment on welfare people who have kids every three years to assure their payment doesn't stop, stop payment of SSI to all foreigners who never did a darn thing for this country and yet because they step foot on our soil are getting $1400 a month, assure all those who are drawing disability falsely go to prison for life, clean dead row out this year, reduce all unnecessary government sponsored activities paid for with tax payer funds. That's just a few. I could go on and on about programs that need to be cut where the funds could be used to pay for medicaid, medicare and SS. It's time to close all points of entry into this country for the next 30 years, round up the illegals and send them home and make America the industrial nation it once was. The one world order and global economic must come to and end this year if we are to survive and don't want to be owned by China, Japan and Iran. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/tentrillion/

Have any of you seen the PBS frontline documentary on this issue. If not go to www.americagonestupid.com and watch the special in full and then watch the one about retirement in anerica is gone. Sit down with your children and leave politics out of the story. Just explain to yur children what this truely means to them if we don't get this under control and then ask them if they should be paying into social security to assure your well being. I think not.

Read your own words, and you will find that when your guy spends it is OK, and when the other guy spends it is excessive. If Bush was too spend-happy, then Obama will make him a spend-happy midget by current calculations. What will you say if they have to put a 2 at the front of that debt clock? How long will you blame it on Bush? THIS Secretary of the Treasury authorized the AIG payments. This President does not give a hoot if you don't pay your taxes and you are his friend. This President is surging in Afghanistan. This President suspended ethics in campaign financing and inauguration spending. This Democratic Regime publishes bills 10 hours before the vote on them, (1,100 pages worth), supports them almost unanimously, and then points the finger everywhere else when mistakes are revealed. I do not care which party you come from, let's work toward an era of responsible government and ethical leadership. If you do not want lobbyists in your government, then do not hire them. If paying taxes is your patriotic duty, then let's not make excuses for top elected and appointed officials who "forgot" to pay their taxes.

I dont care what party you're from, what race you are, or what part of the country you live in.

This debt is owed by all of us (who are US citizens of course).

The real question is:

What can we do, as individuals, to turn this tide around and pay this debt DOWN.

We are all reaping the 'benefits' of this borrowing, our children and grandchildren will still be paying it back. I dont want that for my kids.

Does anyone have any idea as to where to start?

Hey Bryan, need to check your facts pal...when Clinton was in office, they turned the debt clock OFF because it was receeding at such a rate, they couldn't keep up with it and it was off. Granted it wasn't erased but in was RECEEDING. And also genius, when Clinton left office there was a billion dollars in surplus. Just like you whiny, pansy ass, bitching, complaining Republicans who the Bush was Jesus Christ, he put us where we are today. Hell, if anybody listened to Obama, he himself said he wasn't going to fix the problems right away, he himself said it would take at least his first term in office, so 4 years to fix 8 years of screwups Bush made. Remember this, even the Republicans didn't like Bush, a 27% approval rating...lets see here hmmm...Bush had 55% of the votes in the 04 elections against Kerry...do the math people 45% of americans were democrats. Subtract 73 from 45 and what do you get = 28...thats 28% of Republicans who didnt agree with what Governor (thats the only post he held legally) Bush left us with. And his legacy...f--king us over....NICE JOB REPUBLICANS...quit complaining that your 'maverick' duo of McCain and Palin didnt win and thank GOD they aren't running things. A senior citizen and an airhead...wonderful duo, hell, Mexico would own us if those two were in office. So Bryan...CHECK YOUR FACTS!!!

Kevin S of NV 9:21PM March 22, 2009

Uhhhhhh, if President Obama fails, so do you, me and the rest of us! DUH. It's that type of selfish, short term, cowardly thinking that's got us in this miserable mess. Might I remind you Bush Republicans that it was with your fear and loyal support that we are now spending 10 billion dollars per month to fight them over there so we are too broke to fight them over here? When you supported this mess did you ever stop think how much it was going to cost in blood and treasure? Did you stop to consider the cost of bringing the troops home and the taxpayer funded services they will need? If liberals supported such nonsense Bush Republicans would be crying foul and questioning our patriotism. The cable media would be giving the question hours of coverage. Don't believe me? Check the media archives and the political chat boards right after Bush was selected in 2000 and again right after 911.

It’s time to get over the election. The Democrats won and rightfully so. Bush republicans helped to cheerlead this mess, now they are whining like babies on the bus. ENOUGH! Stop whining and start praying President Obama does not fail. If you can’t do it for yourself do it for your children because no matter how the media and Bush republicans try, WE WILL NOT let you rewrite our nation’s history. We’ve got video tape, cameras and the Internet.

I love liberals because they're so... IGNORANT!

First of all, Bush may have had a 1.9T deficit a year, but Obama managed to spend 1.2T within his first 41 days. He's off to a really good start taking care of the national debt.

Secondly, everyone that is always accusing the rich of wanting tax breaks, who the hell do you think drives the economy? Who do you think is working hard everyday to have that better life? Who are the only people getting things done?

92% percent of the jobs Obama proposed in his package are over within 6 years. Its going to be the biggest short term fix the world will ever see.

When Obama manages to fail terribly at the end of his 4 years, I cant wait to tell you all I told you so...
