To Be Humble Is Good Except...

Yea, got an awful experience with a foreigner Supervisor. My confirmation was a 'OK, this is your confirmation, I am sending to the HR.' But few months later for my appraisal, she dropped a bomb on me, saying she is unhappy with my work all these time and then gave me the appraisal form to fill in! I did, and not surprisingly, gave myself a mediocre to bad review.

On a HR discussion, the HR asked why I rated myself lowly, did I agree with the Supervisor's appraisal. Then and there, I replied that with such a low comments from that Supervisor, how could I write anything positive about myself.

Thinking back, it is good to leave such a toxic character behind, except that it just leave a mark and a blow to my self-confidence.
