According to research by the University of Iowa the tone of a job interview is set by the handshake.

The study included 98 students at a business school participating in mock job interviews with local business representatives.

students who scored high with the handshake experts were also considered to be the most employable by the interviewers, and those who had "limp" grips where seen less impressive.

the study will be published in the Journal of Applied Psychology.
