I have to say that this has been happening to me for months and he always seemed to take it out on me for what others in the store had done. I finally walked two days ago because of health reason of the daily stress after him calling me on my phone at lunch and screaming not yelling but screaming at me. I told him I wasn't coming back and I didn't.

This is happening to me right now, but the bad part it is affecting my health. I have bi-polar disorder and stress sets off manic/depressive episodes. The bad part is I have been there 7 years and I love my job good pay and benefits. I am also 45 and need to be thinking of my retirement. They have a good profit sharing/retirement program. I am so confused what I should do. This is the few times he has done this to me, but I see him constantly doing this to other employees (we have high turn over rate) This a small family owed business and he is the owner so he is the HR. I have spoke to my supervisor because they both know of my illness and what effects it. Supervisor informed me she has been there 20 years and it is not going to change.

I had been in that same situation for couple of months. I also try everything as listed above. It's also hard not to take it on each situation personally especially when you deal with almost every hour of your life working with your bad boss. My last stroke ended up in a very bad situations which cause myself to walk out of the job.

Best option is to look at everything and observe, and do reality check to see if it health because it can be a high stress environmen.

Just had a new supervisor put in charge at work. The old one is still on our shift and was fair and easy going yet, he expected work to get done and it was. They switched him for a hothead ego maniac who tales things way to seriously. He pushes people that are working and constantly says you need to get better and faster at your job. He yells at people at people and demeans them and puts them down in front of other employees. He is very hard tobe comfort around and he makes the environment unsafe by getting people all worked up and flustered. Etc. He will even bug your after work about your performance and say you need to improve, while it feels personal because your work was good enough for the other supervisor.

Wow - THANK YOU!!! I had just received an amazing job offer and almost turned it down because ive been in a "honeymoon" phase with my boss, however its only a matter of time before hes off ranting and raving and yelling at me again. When I told my new company they were to say the least SHOCKED that he got with this behavior NO ONE should tolerate this, its wrong and unethical and worst of all it will beat you down to the point you wont even have enough confidence to find a job! GET OUT! I was so beat down but I scrapped myself up gave myself a pep talk and got a awesome job offer!

Thank you, it explains alot. He never really yells directly at the person he is mad at but I get dumped on every morning about other employees and their not doing their jobs right. He yells and expresses his anger while customers and delivery people are in the store and they think he is mad at me. I only care about my job performance not the other employees. I work graveyard and when he comes in at 5:00 am it continues until I leave at 6am. I like my boss but dread the yelling. I think he does it in hopes that I will tell the other employees what he says but this causes trouble in the workplace and he needs to do his own dirty work.

My boss yells at me and accuses me all the time. I have talked with her about yelling at me and it does not stop. I cannot go above her because they will take her side no matter what. I have started writing everything down and also have a pen that records (I'm usually in a position where I cannot get to it when she's yelling though) in case she does fire me.

When the boss begins to raise his/her voice,,,,,say,,,"Tim, Tim,, just calm down. What's the problem?". Say their name repeatedly until , they pause for you to say "calm down". If they're asking you a question in a belligerent manner, and don't like your answer,,,, again say "calm down". Most yellers don't explain themselves completely and expect you to read their minds before they go off on their rant. And they don't give you time to process their question, or time to fully answer.

This is PT 2 to managers.. what the best part was, it was 2 against one, so sure.. there was nothing I could do. No higher ups taking my side. I pray harder for these folks cause it seems like they need it more than anyone else. A word to managers... "you get more flies with honey".

Yea, do like I did. My boss yelled first, then I yelled, I got the boot, she kept her job and now I can't draw my unemployment because of a law that basically states.. THE BOSS CAN DO WHATEVER, THE PEON IS NOTHING!
