4. Encourage the enthusiasm verbally and non-verbally. It is, after all, contagious.

I would add, don't discourage the enthusiasm.

Nothing bugs me more than the "Pfffff" sound from someone when I'm talking in a meeting. You know the sound I'm talking about? It's like the person all of a sudden springs and air leak. This happened to me recently in a meeting and it bugged me for at least an hour.
