Objectives: Leave Them Off Your Resume

When reviewing resumes, I usually skip right over the objectives and head right to where you've been and what positions you've held. I'll know from that if you've been a job hopper (ugg) or if you're not qualified for the position.

I actually do go back and skim the objectives afterward, but even then I'm looking more for typos, spelling and grammatical issues rather than what you're hoping your new position will be.

Worst of all? When the listed objective is just a word or two...

Objective: Receptionist

So, yeah, objectives are goofy. Save the space and tell me more about what you've done.
