How to Get a Job Using a Company's ORM

Most companies suffering from an online reputation crisis either haven't set-up an online communication channel to engage with Web audience, or have used them improperly. A job applicant with a shot at an interview might do well in landing a career with that company if they can teach them how to get rumour-wired (monitoring suggestions above are a great starting point). In a tough economy, one measure of success will require business to be Internet "rumour-wired" (real or not) and to be prepared for any/all disruption Internet rumous may cause.

Another valid point is to introduce and suggest the idea that a senior person in that company be charged with the responsibility of introducing themselves online, and to make themselves acccessible to the questions and/or demands of Web audiences. If the applicant has the social media background, and it sounds like the employer hasn't yet made the leap because they lack the 'Net savvy, entrust yourself with the role of helping them learn the ropes.

And bring along the article to validate your case.

very GOOD advice. With your "resume" now devalued more than a California house (due to glut of resumes), you might as well get creative. Little to lose---as long as you don't come across as a total nut.
