Fantastic blog Curt - as a Career Strategist and Founder of Careers wtih Wings (www.careerswithwings.com) as well as a Consultant for Right Management I have been on the front lines of layoffs and helping people with transition. Even though it has been tough on a lot of people, I have definitely seen a lot of people get back to the basics - family, health and really rethinking and going after their passion.

I couldn't agree more. On ScrappyUpstarts.com we're getting more and more submissions by Scrappy entrepreneurs making a go of it, with limited funds but a good plan.

While everyday it feels like many big corporations are simply throwing in the towel.
