You could have presented this article this way:

Flying the "Brand-New" plane over Manhattan seemed like a good idea at the time, but I bet now they thought, "What were we thinking!"

This happens to all of us at some point in our lives. This "spur-of-the-moment" bright idea could cause us to lose an interview, job, or other because it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Instead, we should "rethink" first before those so-called great ideas cause us problems. I am willing to say, once public opinion was against the fly-over, that it was likely someone lost a job because of it.

Hind-sight has always been better than fore-sight! How about, think Thrice before treading where angels fear to tread!

Julie and Muser---You are both right, of course.

Clever phrasing, Julie, working the Emperor thing in your answer. That ALWAYS fits in management, leadership issue, it seems.

And MUSER...'that' is one of my own favorite things to say...great minds...

thanks to your both for commenting.

Psychology 101. "If everybody else thinks it's OK, who am I to question it? They probably know something I don't know."

And the Emperor winds up parading naked through the village.

the president or top staff, the answer would have been NO, on cost alone. Flying low over NEW YORK? With fighter jets? For a $325,000 photo? Un-*******-believable.
