5 Ways Companies Mistreat Job Seekers

This is an insightful topic and I love that you're drawing focus to this matter. I know too many people who've even had multiple interviews for a position and have been among a final small selection of candidates, then never heard from the employer again. It's just plain wrong.

These are definitely the most common abuses, but I find the second one (timeline) and last one (not notifying candidates) are the most common and some of the easiest to change. I wouldn't care if I even got a mass email letting me know that the company filled the position. At least I'd KNOW! This is especially true with companies who don't want phone calls about the position. :(

Thank you, Thank you for recognizing what job seekers endure.

I remember going to interview for a job, I used my food money to take a cab since I was not familiar with the area. As it turned out, I waited 20 minutes after the scheduled time. When I walked into the doctor's office I waited to be offered a seat, never got the offer, had no choice but to stand, it wasn't so bad because I wasn't in the room for more than 5 minutes. He is a gastroenterologist and I have 15 years of experience in said field. He gave me his business card and asked me to call him in one week, I did and left a message with the receptionist. The interview took place in February, 2009

and I stopped waiting for him to return my call. Sorry I wasted my food money on this foolishness.

Thank you.
