Can You Change Your Mind After Turning Down an Offer?

Hi, I hope you can give me some advice. I recently turned down an offer from the company I really love to work for and the hiring manager is good through the entire process. I had to turn it down, because I couldnt find a nanny for my Autistic kid. She is only 4 yrs old and taking her to a regular daycare is not an option. Throughout the interview process, I was looking for a nanny but cannot find someone who is specialized for kids like mine. I told HR & Hiring Manager that I have to secure my daughter's need before I can commit. After a month, I found a nanny, and went back to the Hiring Manager, but the job was filled. I really would like to work for this company, especially with this group that I got a job offer. How can I know that they will consider me for future opportunities? Or will they even consider me after what I did? I figured, that it was a pressing issue to address my daughter's needs, since I cannot give my 100% percent if I just took the job for selfish reason.. I've been wanting to call the Hiring Manager to talk to him and see how he feels about it..If he will put me on his list for the next job that will come. I regret that I turned it down, but again, i needed to be a mother first before I can be a good employee..please HELP me. I want to know from HR or Hiring Manager, how they perceive me. Thanks
