All good tips, Karen! Doing this demonstrates that you feel comfortable, and if you can do that, you up the chances of making your interviewer feel comfortable, too. That, in turn, can help them visualize you as their newest employee!

Loved these 7 Tips, Karen. Like others, it prompted me to think of another tip to add. One of the fastest ways to derail rapport is to have negatives, either viewpoint, attitude or in speech during the job interview. Every negative can be turned to a positive, given careful forethought. Positives attract and negatives repel. Your tips are a great way to put one's "best foot forward" during the interviewing process.

Really enjoyed your 7 tips, Karen -- just tweeted your article. Running hand in hand for all potential candidates should be an in-depth look at the company; Glassdoor.com has company specific salaries, reviews, and interview questions all posted by actual employees and accessible for free. Utilize these tips in combination with looking through the 'glassdoor' of a company to enhance your interview. Best of luck on your new job!

Another aspect of finding the right job fit is to determine if the compensation being offered is a match for your skills. This can be difficult to ascertain initially, but a website called SalaryFor.com http://www.salaryfor.com/ helps make this easier by listing real salaries from an incredible number of companies and positions.
