Making eye contact with each of the interviewers is very important as well as including their names in your thank you letter. If their names are mentioned, it proves that you were paying attention from the beginning and have good recall without taking notes!

Should i send a thank-you note to the receptionist and to the lady who scheduled my interview? They were really nice, but I'm not sure if I should...

I interviewed with four people-three were women who seemed very interested and really nice (one whom was the president of the company) and a man (who is vice-president) who looked totally not interested in my work...i felt he didn't really care about me getting interviewed or anything he also just walked in during my interview, but I was still nice and happy. To get to the point... I have no idea what to write in my thank-you note for him besides "thank you." Any ideas please?

Everybody likes to get personal cards and letters through the mail. E-mail is quick and easy, and that's just the problem with e-mail. Taking the time to actually type out (better than hand writing unless you have great penmanship) a short letter shows that you care enough to go that extra step. Also, some people don't open e-mails from unknown sources; it's just too easy for the boss who gets 40 or 50 e-mails a day to delete your thank you e-mail. I have interviewed over 80 people for just one job, and I don't have time to read over e-mails from all those applicants. But I will read a letter that lands on my desk. Make your thank you letter look professional, keep it short, and be sure to put your full name, address and phone number in the letter, not just the envelope. It's a tough economy out there; you should do everything you can to stand out and be memorable when you are looking for a job.

I think it is good to be positive about anything, but it won't be appropriate to identify yourself with the team while the process is still in progress. At least you should say you will be excited to be of a great time if you are successful!

I just had a interview and sent a handwritten thank you card to the HR rep. She was very personable and I can see myself working along beside her.

I was sure to end the note with a positive statement: "I am excited to become part of such a great team!"

I don't know if I have the job yet or not, but I feel that positive thoughts will bring positive results.

Good luck, everyone!

Hello

I was wondering should you send a email after a pre screen phone interview? The HR rep was very pleasant and I wanted to make sure that I stand out !

Thank you for your help

Thank you Karen! I found this article very helpful on what to include in the thank-you note! I do struggle with what to include and this describes it very clearly!
